Mastercard vs Bank saving
Dave Jones replied to SuperJohnG's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
And you now have protection if the supplier goes tits up -
1 block 175mm will give you just shy of 14m of fall at 13mm/m. Can allways chip out a bit of the conc footing to gain little bit more if needed. You may have sleeper walls in your block and beam that makes it a bit of hassle as well, nothing that cant be lintelled over but groundworkers like easy they couldn't give a toss about scattering manholes all over your drive as its not their problem!

nothing to do with any of that 6th form nonsense. Blair decided to throw open the gates to mass immigration without ever asking for a mandate. The results of this is now being reaped and jolly good it is too. It's all too delicious really.

Dry Hip and Dry Ridge problem on new build

no reason at all to leak if done properly. Maintenance free and no crappy muck for the frost to crack off. -
Dry Hip and Dry Ridge problem on new build

the nail through the last dry virge clip really makes the whole job shine. If your still wanting it, snag it - cost to correct. Lower offer based on this to the developer. Otherwise just budget it in to fix it up, none of its a show stopper. Who was the developer ? -
hallways look massively wide lot of wasted space. bed 4 is mostly corridor don't like that assume your garden is at the rear (opposite side to front door) in which case is want living room on side side. id get rid of the pointless diagonal in lounge making the already massive hallway more massive and put pair of doors into it. not seeing any storage/cupboards anywhere. are you limited in height ? Bungalow style windows in roof dont do it for me, especially how they look like nailed on boxes on your plans. Much maintenance for them. assume you are north of Hadrian's hence the god awful render.

http://www.brick-panels.co.uk/brick_tiles_panels_with_insulation.html will look crap but still better than render.

so they forgot to put a 110 pipe under the footings to pull it through then. They have bodged it, mains water should never be above ground (or less than 750mm) so it doesnt freeze.

are the CBI that bastion of impartiality. Sorry i don't do woke speak.

the Irish have done very well indeed out of the EU. Wonder how much of the massive amount of cash we wasted on the EU over the years ended up in south ireland. Probably why the roads here are crap, the schools dont have enough kit, impossible to get a GP appointment etc etc

Plastic vs Copper pipes for radiators
Dave Jones replied to Raks's topic in Central Heating (Radiators)
its behind the skirting, looks much more professional. -
i agree its not a good step forward. A lot of people moving into heat pump driven homes will feel conned i think when they realise they are back into the 70's of waiting for an immersion to get the tank up to heat before they can have a quick shower while everyone else has to share a bath as the hot water has ran out. Without massive expense it's really not workable.

now thats a bite! Have a pound.

never out the floor looks terrible. Elbow out of the wall behind. -
the fact it annoys you so much will make me use it more.
-
there is a nice in the market here I think, builds requiring effectively combi like performance (or dual combi's for larger houses) out of a heat pump system. Designing the multitude of tanks, pumps, controllers to make a workable system for a family. Rather than a single tank pensioner setup.

fake news. it was tiddles and we all know it.

yep all them there EU rules we must take as gospel and preach them to save ourselves!! A few of your sanctified EU rulez Bendy bananas - banned. Bottled water being marked as 'prevents dehydration' - banned Tampon tax - Enforced Accidently catch the wrong fish, must throw it away - Enforced selling food by the pound - banned Tax fiddling by unelected Eurocrats - Compulsory and you remainiacs wonder why the country applied its collective common sense and booted the whole lot into touch.
