  1. Just glue it on - no problems doing that.
  2. Just use one layer of fire line and be done with it. No need to do anything else as the ceiling is seen as the fire compartment anyway.
  3. Is it spreading at the base or just getting too tall..? Yew isn't easy to prune well as evergreen trees don't respond well unless you take them back to the main stems carefully.
  4. yeh thats @JSHarris then as @Onoff won't have fitted a full house install until 2024...
  5. Have done.... and only got 3 standard switched lights in cupboards apart from fitting a set of lights on the stairs that are hard wired
  6. Talk to Rayleigh who make this sort of stuff..? Or use a pair of them and switch the load across the two with a contactor..?
  7. Just double up the wall board and it should be fine - or use soundblock
  8. £45 round here unless its under the DDD rules (Dead, Diseased, Dangerous) where you can give 48 hours notice and JFDI... Why do you want it pruning...?
  9. 70 litres has very little heat capacity - it will also be at a relatively low temperature for a preheat. What other dump loads are you planning for the PV..?
  10. Hi and welcome Why do you think the ensuite will be small..? You could always change the door to open out as it currently takes up 25% of the room with the swing. Have you tried marking it out on a floor and trying it out..?
  11. Welcome So... the first one will do things the second won't do, so your £400 difference may be double or triple that when you add in the extras. The first has a lot of areas covered and the one question I would ask of both is who is doing the structural calculations, and do they work with specific engineers.
  12. £35 off Toolstation when you spend over £200 until 30th September using SEPT18
  13. UPVC goes on with grab adhesive - thin line top and bottom and wiggly line down the middle. Bead of sealant on the bottom edge for it to bed into and seal - use masking tape to keep it neat. And I hate wings on cills but that is personal opinion !
  14. If you have a router then CLS can be used for most things - make it L shaped so it is stronger and just route the edges etc. Make sure any rods or spindles are less than 100mm apart. Square profile spindles can be bought for less than £2 each so shop around
  15. That's the kiddie !!
  16. Thought that may be something as its next to a wiring centre... Immersion - find the immersion(s) on the tank and follow the wires back to the wall or a switch !
  17. The stuff Multipanel tell you to use as otherwise you invalidate the warranty...
  18. indirect will reduce the amount of antifreeze needed in any UFH / ASHP circuits. I've fitted a 70 litre direct copper cylinder as a buffer.
  19. Very unlikely !! At worst the heads need replacing - thats a 2 minute job and does not need the valve bodies themselves removing. Time for a new sparky by the sounds of it....
  20. What concerns me here is that it “was” working so anyone who’s played with stuff may have altered the wiring. Who wired it up ? the pump btw can go back to auto - it would have modulated down to low as there was no flow and the back pressure was high.
  21. @lizzie I don't think those pumps have been commissioned properly - have a look at this
  22. Problem is that a lot of the cheaper manufacturers (Pears, StairBox,StairsOnline etc) all expect you to measure. Local ones that do bespoke normally measure for you.
  23. 5.5m is nothing - I've seen internal garages wider. You just use an insulated buried pipe and for hot water you use a bronze circulation pump.
  24. go above the garage ceiling as that should be fire rated.
  25. Don't forget your floor coverings and whether the staircase will sit on the concrete sub floor or on the final finished floor. That will deem how accurate your measurement needs to be. Is it a straight run..?
