  1. Good question...I'll whip the cold off as that's not yet connected in the loft. I remember something about this now you mention it.....
  2. Filament etc bargains for anyone? https://cpc.farnell.com/education-maker-hobbyist-electronics-bargain?
  3. I some very observant Jewish households have maybe 4 kitchen "areas".
  4. What's the score with a kosher kitchen then if in separate rooms?
  5. If you think you might be planning a future garage, summer house, home office, (hot tub?) etc then worth thinking about cable ducts to go out under the slab if your cu is in a plant room within the house. Ditto ducting if your planning hardwired CAT, CCTV etc to a remote building. Similarly if you're planning an ASHP then ducts in for the pipework and power, insulated ducts in the case of the ASHP possibly or big enough to take pre insulated pipes.
  6. Just looking a bit deeper into the Hudson Reed guarantee and it would appear to be 12 months on serviceable parts / those subject to normal wear and tear. I have a feeling the long term guarantees are on the finishes only. guarantees-policy.pdf
  7. 20 year g'tee with Hudson Reed... https://www.hudsonreed.co.uk/about-us
  8. Not by SWMBO anyway!
  9. Lidl's Miomare range? I SO wanted a Vado Summit...but SWMBO didn't!
  10. I'd have done this grey but was overruled: Ended up at an 8mm bead. The far side was proud of the floor by about 4mm so "out" was the pedestal casting. The gap is packed with CT1 Fugi'd flush then gone over with Forever White. Cheated with the black waste by covering with some foil tape until I cut a bit of upvc or something:
  11. Sharpie and a bit of A4 paper is all you need! ?
  12. That's in. Just waiting for the CT1 to go off: Then I'll nut the tails and waste up:
  13. What box for vampire bats?
  14. Something like mine? Took some working out: Timber frame covered with moisture resistant pkasterboard generally and Aqua Panel in the wet room corner and behind the wc: NB: Aqua Panel is a whole different ball game to mrpb. Pretty much inflexible by comparison and cracks quite easily so get your studs dead flush. Dusty (old circular saw and carbide edged jigsaw blades) to cut and needs special screws. The bottom "shelf" of the Aqua Panel (where the beer is above ) projects over the wall panel that comes up to it. When all the boarding was done I tanked the pocket with the blue stuff, Aqua Seal in this case. This is the 10mm white pvc trim I used for 8mm tiles. I went for the tile flush with the trim so you don't feel the trim edge: Trim on. I stuck mine on with clear CT1. @Nickfromwalesfavours mitre bond but I couldn't get on with it: (I wanted chrome or stainless trim btw but was overruled ) Back tiles on first - sits behind the bottom tile btw: Bottom tile in second, mine slope toward the front by a few degrees. A bit of plastic helps to check the fit and get the tile out again: Then the top: Then the sides last. See the sloping bottom tile? Note the 1mm shims all round. I take no credit for the majority of this. Mainly done with advice from @Nickfromwales. Standing on the shoulders of giants me!
  15. Update. The controller was "hanging" more often. Up until tonight I've been able to reset it then redo the time, date & settings. Came in just now to the downstairs heating off and couldn't reset the controller this time. Changed the electrolytic, new one apparently Panasonic brand. All appears to be working again. Thanks all, especially Jeremy.
  16. I've had these tap connectors lying around for so long I've lost one rubber O ring and the other is dry, cracked and perished! Anyone know what size they are? Measures about 8.5mm dia to the base of the groove. From my trusty £3 Maplin box of assorted O rings I note I have both 7 and 8mm ID ones, both 2mm thick. Cheers Edit: In searching for the O ring size I came across monobloc connectors with double O rings. Are these any better than the single O ring ones?
  17. Aren't dungeons meant to be damp?
  18. So the EBLV-1 virus from a Daubenton bat killed a chap in the UK a while back. At the end of last year EBLV-2 was detected in a serotine bat in Dorset... Basically either virus cause rabies in humans. Almost makes the much vilified brown rat look cute and cuddly!
  19. @lizzie, did you sort your wobbly tap? Got one to install shortly.
  20. That's the studs and pipes/waste all ready, this end anyway! Only the hot on the left is "live". The cold, nearest, just goes to an open end 15mm in the loft. Got to get a couple of lengths of copper and run / tee off the incoming mains.
  21. I can honestly say the only issue I had with British Bathrooms was a delay on one item I ordered that I had to chase. @Hecateh, pm me a copy of your order or similar and I'll email and give them a rocket saying I've recommended them to you and others and how embarrassing it is etc ref their poor service.
  22. Don't be daft. Plenty of idiots out there will buy it off of you!
  23. Go on, waste some more money! ? http://www.mcdiscount.co.uk/search?q=dewalt dw0100 3 4&ts=bs&gclid=Cj0KCQiAn4PkBRCDARIsAGHmH3fHZZFFntZnhLqtJLDlwW4CwD-NXgYCup65MIwqvmE-vhkb1QKdL_EaAn3sEALw_wcB
