Yeah, but it's probably the only correct one!
-
Um...so is it the right one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermostat-077B2289-Danfoss-Gorenje-631237/222525840210?epid=1766688363&hash=item33cf92db52:g:iL0AAOSwK6RZKVh9 @recoveringacademic, have ein look for me would you pls? I want a 007B2228 part number 631237. I THINK this part from Germany equates. Cheers

How to test RCD and earthing of a temporary supply.
Onoff replied to epsilonGreedy's topic in Consumer Units, RCDs, MCBOs
Not necessarily. If both 30mA then it's likely one or the other might go if selection (formerly discrimination) rules haven't been considered. -
I wet cut my diagonals. Tbh bloody amazed how well they came out. Abandoned the Rubi scribe 'n snap one tbh in favour for the wet cutter for everything.

Wire in a 230V old fashioned light bulb with one side on live and the other on the rod. The better the earth the brighter the bulb! I can't condone this as a test method btw... -
I think it's this: Lists it as an equivalent for the 007B2228 albeit with 1100 rather than the original 850mm capilliary: http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=283001312043&category=184666&pm=1&ds=0&t=1553027435910&cspheader=1 Then going by the 631237 part number a bit closer to home: https://www.espares.co.uk/product/es929226?

Yep appears to. Result! Looking now. Capillary nom 800mm long.

Having a look now... 4uF cap climbs to circa 3.8uF. On / off switch works ok but (green) neon duff. Compressor (Danfoss) does not start. Switching fast freeze (orange neon) on "*" and compressor starts. I assume that fast freeze just bypasses the stat. Switching on and stat gets 230V on the brown. Nothing on the black or white. Turning the stat makes no difference and there's also no audible "click". White btw just goes to the low temp lamp between the fast freeze switch and thermometer. When the freezer failed it didn't come on! With the on switch "on" then switching the fast freeze on and I get 230V at the black. This then goes down to the control relay on the side of the compressor. Compressor runs and gets hot. Looks like the stat is duff then to me.

You must have read it different to how I did! "their track record on reliability thus far has been nothing short of abysmal". "repair trade at least think that these appliances are not great from what we've seen so far" Tbh I've nothing but praise for UK Whitegoods.
-
Haier...I'll be avoiding that: https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/about-the-appliance-industry/manufacturer-information/2913-haier-domestic-appliances Ditto Logik: https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/about-the-appliance-industry/manufacturer-information/3560 Kenwood maybe.

Yes. Said she can barely manage with the size we have (274L).
-
Looking at Samsung, Sharp or a cheap Bosch if replacement is required. Want 274L capacity minimum.
-
Cheap as chips no error code display. I'll drag it out and take a look tonight with a meter; stat, relay, cap etc along with the fan. SWMBO started defrosting it Monday morning so chances are if the fan blades were frozen they weren't by the time I got home.

"And what do you want to buy?" If my school / night school German serves me correctly? No, I didn't use Google translate.
-
Freezer packed up! Temp at around 10deg. Switching to Super Freeze drops it to about -2 and compressor seems to kick in. Thinking evaporator fan maybe duff? As I understand it on Super Freeze compressor runs constantly? SWMBO reckons the freezer has "been making weird noises lately". The usual ruse to get a new one. She HATES it when I fix a domestic appliance! Can't seem to find the fan motor as a spare yet. Might get a number off it when I access it. Left SWMBO decanting anything salvageable to friends and family and cooking anything that can be. Tomorrow night's job. Bed now! Told her to buy a Bosch all those years ago!

Use Soudal Low Expansion foam. This one: https://www.screwfix.com/p/soudal-soudafoam-expanding-foam-gun-grade-750ml/5026D? Careful as the "ordinary" Soudal foam can looks similar but obviously doesn't have low expansion written up the side! You'll need a foam gun. Dampen the substrates first with water in a plant sprayer. Lines or zig zag the foam on one surface and press the pe (I used eps) against/on it. Use a board against the pe with some bricks against it to keep the board dead straight/flat. You can see the house bricks I used just to keep the eps in place whilst the foam sets: This is where I stuck some insulated plasterboard down onto a sill using low expansion foam: (Novel use of wire coat hangers by the original "builder" as cavity ties ). Bricks on a spare bit of eps to protect the face of the insulated pb underneath: I even stuck insulated pb to the blue dpm I lined the reveal with. The blue dpm was stuck to the wall with spray contact adhesive:
