  1. Boy are you in for some questions when I do mine!
  2. I THINK the rules might be stricter if AONB, area of special scientific interest etc. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/wales_en/info/3/common_projects/34/outbuildings
  3. My experience of ST panels here is that could perhaps get too hot to feed some pcms and that you could cook them without some sort of temperature limiting and heat dump.
  4. I wonder if like me you'll be wishing you'd knocked it down and rebuilt from scratch! Oh, and welcome!
  5. I used to come across "light agg" on roofs around 30 years ago. At least that's how it was pronounced. Really thick, laid to falls on top of structural concrete and good in compression. Dead easy to dig through though. This was before "blue board" insulation so I assume it had inherent insulation properties.
  6. How a out something like this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLORABEST-2-IN-1-CORDLESS-GRASS-Hedge-TRIMMER-LI-lON-TECHNOLOGY-3-6-V/223455384449? Had something similar in Lidl today but I didn't look too close.
  7. Cut a sliver of board on thd table saw and glue it in if that fussed.
  8. If you're not having UFH in the base slab why the perimeter strip of insulation? Not like it's going to heat up and expand....
  9. Try the cheapo S'fix spray adhesive if the foam won't have it. Try on a small area first. Looks like perimeter strip is it?
  10. You deserve a night on the tiles for that effort...
  11. Rubi Practic 60 here. Not all that impressed.
  12. You could still have a sill on some ornate brackets?
  13. Yeah, but it's probably the only correct one!
  14. Um...so is it the right one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermostat-077B2289-Danfoss-Gorenje-631237/222525840210?epid=1766688363&hash=item33cf92db52:g:iL0AAOSwK6RZKVh9 @recoveringacademic, have ein look for me would you pls? I want a 007B2228 part number 631237. I THINK this part from Germany equates. Cheers
  15. Are these specs for the stat OK for the freezer? Temperaturen: kalt aus: -30,0° C kalt ein: -23,0° C warm aus: -23,0° C warm ein: -17,0° C
  16. Not necessarily. If both 30mA then it's likely one or the other might go if selection (formerly discrimination) rules haven't been considered.
  17. I wet cut my diagonals. Tbh bloody amazed how well they came out. Abandoned the Rubi scribe 'n snap one tbh in favour for the wet cutter for everything.
  18. Wire in a 230V old fashioned light bulb with one side on live and the other on the rod. The better the earth the brighter the bulb! I can't condone this as a test method btw...
  19. I think it's this: Lists it as an equivalent for the 007B2228 albeit with 1100 rather than the original 850mm capilliary: http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=283001312043&category=184666&pm=1&ds=0&t=1553027435910&cspheader=1 Then going by the 631237 part number a bit closer to home: https://www.espares.co.uk/product/es929226?
  20. Yep appears to. Result! Looking now. Capillary nom 800mm long.
  21. Having a look now... 4uF cap climbs to circa 3.8uF. On / off switch works ok but (green) neon duff. Compressor (Danfoss) does not start. Switching fast freeze (orange neon) on "*" and compressor starts. I assume that fast freeze just bypasses the stat. Switching on and stat gets 230V on the brown. Nothing on the black or white. Turning the stat makes no difference and there's also no audible "click". White btw just goes to the low temp lamp between the fast freeze switch and thermometer. When the freezer failed it didn't come on! With the on switch "on" then switching the fast freeze on and I get 230V at the black. This then goes down to the control relay on the side of the compressor. Compressor runs and gets hot. Looks like the stat is duff then to me.
