Planning success for hut number 2
Tennentslager replied to Tennentslager's topic in Planning Permission
Carbeth = Stirling Council -
Did it again on behalf of the management committee, not building this one! Paper and pencil, kept it simple, all dimensions X 1.2m. New hut approved with NO conditions at all, none, zero. This one is 20m into a forest so very very secluded bit with a bit of a view because of the slope. I think the planners are listening to the new Scottish government guidance re hutting so hopefully we will see more people getting into this low cost close to nature stuff in the future. http://www.carbethhutters.co.uk

Didya steal it...? I usually leave a note with my mates address and a pound coin claiming eco possession under the law of rights act. Just in case it's a sting trap or cctv'ed. Just saying -

How fat is a chubby person...I'm no slim Jim but I'd breeze by a 500 gap. Others will know more. A little drawing would help visualise the spaces.- 12 replies

Laundry Chute thoughts?
Tennentslager replied to PeteTheSwede's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
I'd go for a twin set up... darks and lights. Top loader machine from USA...? Or maybe a staffer and a room under the eves or in the basement. Seriously, put the utility room on the first floor. Put the chute from the kids balcony to the paddling pool, this also can be used as a fire escape in winter. And, that site you linked to...I reckon it's not smooth on the inside and bra straps will snag leading to the need for rodents or rodding access points with many bendy bamboo poles stored in bespoke cabinets nearby...just saying -
The Build - Nearly done!!
Tennentslager commented on Redoctober's blog entry in Our Journey North of the Border
This is the best...lots of struggles for most self builders but I love this build. Either it's writing style or for once things went fairly well, in any case...love it -
Nope square finish...my sister's no 1 bathroom, not mine. Mine cost under £2k and kinda basic but nice. How much I asked Susan for all this loveliness...no answer but I suspect many £££

Plastic bullnose window cills - any one got them?
Tennentslager replied to readiescards's topic in General Joinery
That product is rubbish. You have to fit horrible end caps For such a small area I think some fine wood and a good joiner are your friends. Ask @Construction Channel Btw where you been Ed -
Thickness of a one pence piece according to my old long past dad...do you need the gap for air circulation

@epsilonGreedy I'm usually the last to comment on these posts but you should reflect before you press the submit button. Yellow card time is looming I'd guess... -

Looks a tidy job there. Well the insides ? -
Probably but where to get such a part...?

No @ProDave it's the tap. Not the pipe No great problem but needs fixed

So best advice, repair or replace. Soldered underneath and I can't do that. It's the boys rental and I'd just DIY rather than bother landlord who is a gem of a guy but he'll get a plumber out. More...can't see any isolator for the hot...
