  1. Google tile leveling systems and there is a vast array of different products all designed to stop you ending up with tiles not sitting flush at the edges.
  2. The most important tool is quality knee pads. They will save you a lot of aches and pain. As far as proper tools your going to need something to cut the tile. A dry tile cutter will cut most of what you need. You could hire a wet cutter if you have lots of fiddly bits around doors etc or even use an angle grinder. A tape, a few pencils, chalk line and your nice new shiny laser will help you in setting out your pattern. Notched trowel and float, a few large buckets for mixing your adhesive and grout. If you have a good high speed drill you can buy a mixer attachment to mix your adhesive. Depending on how confident you are in doing the tiling then you might look at one of the tile leveling systems. Things you already I hope own are a long spirit level, sponges, gloves and depending on the size and type of your chosen tile maybe a rubber mallet to tap the tile down. And not forgetting a good radio so you can sing away and annoy everyone else in the house.
  3. Not having much luck then Dee.
  4. Can you not swap out the compressor for a new one. Has to be some sort of part id stamp on it.
  5. There won't be any glue holding each board together so could start to spread at the joints. The T&G aren't meant to hold the boards together permanently, that's the glues job. Just don't do the insulation and floor till the last moment Then BCO inspects on a Monday and you lift it all Monday night or Tues then doubt it will matter.
  6. It should go together fine but it's how much traffic it will take before it starts to spread is the question.
  7. Mine is 1600mm wide and we had only the sheet of glass on one side and nothing on the two other side's. We where still getting splashing out both of these sides and got sick of putting towels on the floor each shower so ended up putting a set of doors on. I do have a fairly big shower head and ready good water pressure to be fair.
  8. So with the insulation and floor down your going to have 100mm of head room and without 200mm. Being honest it's going to feel like your workshop is a cave no matter what option you pick. So it's up to you really on what is the best option in a horrible choice. Me I would probably get it passed and reuse the insulation and keep the floor. Nicer walking on the timber than bare concrete.
  9. I left a hole in the floor when the screed was getting laid. Then set a large shower tray so that the tiles and the tray where the same height. You obviously have a tiny step, 35mm , around the edge of the tray. Much easier than a wet room to install.
  10. As Peter says that's just madness. What will be more important. Height or warmth. How tall are you??
  11. So with the insulation and floor done as planned what is the floor to ceiling height.
  12. Why would you want to lift the floor once it's been signed off??
  13. They could still be mostly on holidays so only operating with a few answering any calls.
  14. I think the issue might be proving that you can get them to sit tight together using some sort of adhesive that they form a water tight barrier. How do you work the peaks. That will be a lot of cutting to get your angle. Then how plumb will they actually sit. When you come to door and window openings your going to have a lot of cuts so it's getting all these and the full pieces below to sit plumb enough to be able to fit the doors and windows. Then you have the actual openings. That's going to need a fairly big lintel which might put you out of coursing heights. You would just build a few bricks in normally and then build away. How do you do that.
  15. If some one gets injured on your site you would lose everything. And I'm not just talking about a tradesman. A thief could clean you out of he got hurt. Then you have things like walls, roof getting damaged from wind. Then obviously theft.
  16. Only missing a packet of mentos for a full on explosion.
  17. Be better than watching dancing on Ice later on.
  18. What have you got access to is your first question, is there gas near your site for example?? Then you can work out your heat demand based on your build and your dhw needs based on how many people will live in your house. From them figures you can then work out what suits your circumstances the best.
  19. That's the weirdest bit of perving I have ever heard of. Bet they kind of liked it though.
  20. I have a Xiaomi phone and a few other bits and they are a quality product.
  21. Relatives are a great help. See that big pile of heavy stuff carry it upstairs. That load of waste that needs to go to the skip. Hold the stupid end of the tape and walk over there and I will measure this. These are the jobs for family. Nothing else.
  22. Keep you fit running up and down the ladder.
  23. Do you mean the water going into your ufh circuit is set to 50C as that is really high.
  24. That is superb looking. Well done.
