  1. Did you get a price of baskil for there future proof 3g range???
  2. Think it was about 6 months as we where still doing some flooring and painting after we moved in so there would have been a fair amount of dust being put up into the air. No point in cleaning it out till any work was done. There was hardly anything inside any parts as I had all the ducts covered over and the system turned off till we moved in so it wasn't no where near as bad as I thought.
  3. On a warm day the compressor goes as far away as it can, on a cold day as close as it can. They give of some heat.
  4. I had none at all. Just the same build up of dust etc. I washed mine down with milton anti bacterial type cleaner in the bath and sprayed in on a cloth and wiped everything I could reach maybe that helped.
  5. That's a shell and auger drilling rig. To get to 47m with one of them rigs is good going. The deepest you would get here would be not much more than 35m before you would hit rock or mud stone. It's about as basic as you can get. Lift a big weight with a cutter attached and drop it from height. Clear the cutter out and repeat while getting the casing to go deeper and deeper by either lifting it and dropping it or tapping it with the cutter. Bentonite is some stuff. You can get it in pellet form or powered depending on what you want to do.
  6. Just swapped the screws over but if I break any more of them plastic bits then I will have to figure out how to glue/weld a nut in there too get the screw something to grip.
  7. Pretty much all I have done this past 3 times. The front panel is a joke. For a quality item to have such a sh1t set of fixings is unforgivable. Such a simple fix. I think I have broke 3 of them plastic bits so far. I changed all my screws to hex screws. As far as performance goes it works away in the background with no fuss. You get an alert on the small remote display when the filters need changing. Roughly a year a set for me.
  8. The mobilisation cost is always the big one. You are just paying to get the rig there on site. For the type of rig above it was probably a dando terrier which fits nicely in a long wheel 6.5t van. Drove one all over Ireland for a few years. When you go into the holes over 30m then your into much bigger rigs that will need a big compressor as well. So your paying usually for a lorry and a Jeep. As for the soil testing very few companies will do the actual soil tests them selves as the equipment is very expensive. Queens university done most of ours or a company in Dublin if it was contamination. I think @PeterStarck robbed who ever he got in. £3k for 47m is cheap very cheap. Well done!!!
  9. They are a very dangerous thing to drive. The first time it tips on it's nose is a scary experience as you have no control whatsoever and the load on the end of the boom is going down and won't stop till it hits the ground. The training bit is a joke like the digger test. You aren't allowed on a site to work on a digger or telescopic without a licence but to get a licence you need to have done at least 200hrs in one. The practical part of both tests is pretty basic as well. Last one I drove was 18m and it was like a space ship inside with that many dials to look at.
  10. I have all heatmiser in mine. All the stats are linked to a control unit which is then linked to the valves on each loop on the manifold.
  11. Can you phone up and add it to your policy??? Am sure the hire place has a theft and damage policy in place covering all there plant and in the very small print at the bottom of your hire docket there is bound to something about it. Ask is there a kill switch on it and is there anything else you could do to stop it getting stole.
  12. They have complete systems on their web site so you can get a rough idea how much it will cost. You just send them your plans through and they will give you a plan of where your duct runs will be and you can do the install your self. It's not that hard. Then they can commission it if you want.
  13. Get a price from bpc in larne for mhrv and see where you stand. I look on the whole heat saving aspect as a bonus. The nice clean fresh air in the house is it's real benefit to me. As far as doing the insulated sheets on the inside, it is a lot of work and money and the payback would be long considering you already have a lot in the cavity. There is a spreadsheet on the forum somewhere that Jeremy done that would let you compare the two options and see how much it would take your u value down compared to the cost and then you could see if it's worthwhile.
  14. Make sure before you start digging a trench across the drive you trace any electric, gas and water services. How deep down is the neighbours pipe on their drive???
  15. One of the advantages of doing a block build is that you can see where the walls on the ground floor are so there ain't no excuse for being that far out from the wall. With a timber frame with a slab type foundation you really have to put the hard yards in and measure and check it and check it again or pipes will be in the wrong position. Never used any kind of solvent weld for these kind of pipes. They are just greased up and pushed fully home.
  16. The bean pies where well worth journey as well.
  17. Have you checked your site on Google maps to get it's co ordinates and then put them in something like this site. https://www.maps.ie/coordinates.html
  18. Think your going to have to get the kango bit sharpened up. Get 2 45 bends and put them together. You might need a small length of pipe in between the 2 bends maybe 5-7 inches long to get you in the correct position. When you have it made up mark on the wall your FFL and set your pipe and see how much you need to dig out. Make sure you dig enough out so the bend is pushed fully home and cut and file the pipe coming out of the floor as you don't want a rough edge that could catch a brown trout on it's way out to sea.
  19. Diagonal braces won't stop it wobbling in and out from the wall when you are walking along it. Wedging a plank in will.
  20. Put it all up planks and all so it's roughly level then do your final adjustments with the Jack legs to get it as close as you can. Don't be afraid to wedge a plank from the ground diagonally up so it catches a star on the standard. It will steady it up a lot. Wear a hat when you are taking it down or the dust will drive you insane.
  21. Can you not take the pipe out from the in laws then across the lawn into the neighbours manhole then it will go on into the main sewer. The other 2 houses to the left with the green dots where do they connect in to the sewer??? You will have to bung them a few quid and sort out the legal stuff to allow you to have this easement set up but would be still cheaper than major road works.
  22. The amount of crashes I had on my BMX and home made go kart it's a miracle I made it this far!!!
  23. That's a proper dad showing his kid life skills. Better than stuck on his phone or glued to the TV playing his Xbox till 2am.
  24. Can you not hire some sewer rods and a mouse and cat scanner and stick them up/ down every available man hole and spray on the path/road the routes they take. It won't be a pretty job by any means but will show you where everything goes. This is a what I mean by a mouse not the Mickey variety. http://www.hireandbuy.co.uk/p/mouse-for-c-a-t-scanner/
  25. Think that guy is making that bit look very easy. The tiles on the trolley is a cracking idea as well.
