Vat Claim
nod replied to nod's topic in Self Build VAT, Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), S106 & Tax
Thanks Half of the security fencing is Wire fence with planting either side It was to stop us putting concrete posts and panels -
A long way off for us one post has got me thinking Stating that vat receipts must have your name and the address of the build on each receipt Whilst all the larger items do Some of the more fragile items like consumer units Maybe the boiler will be delivered to my home address I recently found a delivery of security fencing dumped on my home drive Because I had included both addresses on a previous order Is having items delivered to my home going to cause me problems in the future?

It’s very rare for karndean or simalar to be laid directly into any screed however flat Normally a thin screed is spread then rubbed down with a stone the following day to a perfectly smooth finish. I wouldn’t worry about a few small imperfections.

Probably in a skip for a reason

No our engineer said I was wasting my time putting the vents in if they were obstructed So I made the decision to extend them all
-
Hi Vijay if you have the vents at the same height as the beams, you will struggle with airflow BC will want to see the slab before you start building So it might be worth running it past BC We had a simalar problem and I had to buy 70 ent extensions to allow the be to clear the beams

I pay 1.75 per tube

Seal all edges with with gypsum sealant Normally get around six linear metes per sausage So not exspensive to do
-
Parge coat or sound is for sound Parge coat plus is for both sound and air tightness Using Parge for air tightness is a waste of money your building needs to be airtight around all plasterboard seems sockets pipes etc Taking time to caulk around all ceilings and studs. Sealing around pattresses prior to plasterboard is far more effective
-
Corking around the perimeter of the cieling using gypsum air tight sealant would be far more effective using Parge coat in a loft area make no sense unless it is habitable
