Hi Mike You are better using one coat of joint filler Normally stays workable for about 60 minutes Use sparingly as it is quite hard to sand back Just enough to cover the finer tape or paper tape Try about 5 kg Mix a small amount at a time normally about £10 per bag Give any high spots a quit sand Then your ready for two coats of joint cement coat everything including screw holes you can mix as much as you want as it is an air dry product just cover the bucket over night let it dry white and a gently sand Then you can apply the final coat 22 kg bag is around £25 you can get ready mix in a tub But it’s more expensive and can be a bit sloppy Hope this helps

Groundworks is an easy one to answer Extension new build All Groundworks should come with a risk assessment due to heavy plant being used HSE would argue that all trades must have a risk assessment But this isn’t the case on extensions and smaller jobs But getting back to the original post if I was paying a builder to run a new build for me I would expect to be paying he or she and not be paying individual workers and running around after them telling them how to work safely

If you are paying them on a employed or self employed There health and safety becomes your responsibility As does his He should really have employers liability and I would be quite surprised if he was no vat registered already

Thanks for that Nick The only reccimendation for the cylinder Is a 200 ltr No brand I haven’t done a mains pressure test But our engineer informed us at the start of the project that the mains pressure is good

Just looking at my original Sap It states Boiler Worster Greenstar model qualifier 35Di Classic system ErP (regular boiler) cylinder200 ltr Does this make sense Is 200 adiquate?
-
Thank you Nick That is a massive help As I’ve already stated one heating guy has suggested siting the cylinder under the boiler to save running pipe work across the house Is that feasible with pipe work etc im curious as to why the architecht has put it upstairs so far away from the boiler Is there anywhere that I can send my drawing off to and get a heating system design Thanks again Gary

I will have a look through my paperwork when I get home The 10 kw for the UFH is what Cadmans quoted as the max needed to run the UFH
-
I had a couple of friends down to have a look at first fixing plumbing and heating Both fully qualified it conflicting opinions ive 134 mtrs of UFH downstairs Cadmans have informed me that this will need just under 10kw of boiler capacity One has said Use a system boiler with a storage cylinder 250 ltrs sites under the boiler the othe 300 sites upstairs as shown on the drawing id prefer baxi thought 40kw told max is 32 in this type of boiler one says to small Other say fine Is there anywhere I can get a P&H drawing done To sort this out Any advise pls

I wouldn’t hold to much store in the Krend warrantee Like most thing it’s a product warrantee doesn’t cover bad workmanship Ghosting etc Though as pointed out above Krend affiliated is a must Any good contractor will be happy to show off recent jobs that they have completed ball park guide to a fully rendered new build with around 200 mtrs of render (openings measured in) base coat and mesh £8.50 per mtr two coats silicon Krend 15 rubbed up the following day £22 per mtr Labour only Scaffold extra
-
15 mil cement board is fine writing facing out reinforcement mesh 5 mil of base coat ready for krend the following day Hope this helps
-
Six mil gap you can leave the board exposed indefinitely don’t cover it If your near trees you may have to give it a clean prior to base coat k rend sell a really good algi cleaner spray it on Leave an hour wash off with a hose Comes up like new

Good morning all who is going to the Harrogate show in a few weeks time Deborah and myself visited this show last year, just as we were about to break ground So much of what was on show wasn't relavent to us at that time.Bathroons and kitchens etc. Though we did book a drain survey at about a third of what was on offer locally and our UFH contact came from there
-
5 mil 25 mil still render Keep going Ian Its a cheap and effective way of sealing your blocks
-
There's no reason why the exterior rendering can't be done in winter Jist a case of making sure that there isn't minus tempritures or heavey frost i was also delayed from my intended April start To November i started the Krend in Febuwary 400 bags I had little choice as we would of had to pay for the scaffold being stood there
