  1. Really When you take out a Public liability policy The policy is always emailed to you and it clearly states you business Any exclusions are clearly stated Such as working at height By law Any self employed must have PL or be covered by an employers liability policy I would run a mile from any contractor that didn’t have there’s to hand

  4. We spent 3k on our last warranty (Buildzone) The surveyor visited three times Over two years He spent less than 30 minutes over the three visits The last inspection He didn’t go up the stairs or Weald around the outside of the house They rarely pay out I’m expecting tomorrows to be another pointless exercise But I’ll get my bit of paper at the end 😁

  12. Pre planning advise is a waste of money You are better with professional drawn plans My experience with diy plans is planners keep sending them back for the slightest thing Spending on a planning consultant would be the less hassle and more effective route

  14. Your Architect or SE will draw out and submit all your building regs For about £1000-2000 leaving you to concentrate on the practical side
  15. A 200 deep concrete lintel will support most Though I’ve worked on stone bar conversions with thick stone walls and a row of four 100s have been used over windows and doors
