You’ll need a timber in the door leg to fix your frame The stiffener is the tiny rip of plasterboard above the door head Simple but crucial

Is this external studwork wall buildup OK?

Have you considered Met set Metal frame Stronger straighter and easier to work with than timber -
I’ve just been to a job (Care Home) One that we did the taping on but didn’t have anything to do with the framing or boarding We we’re apparently to expensive Cracks have appeared above each door frame A simple blame exercise The client is refusing to cough up the final payment until these cracks are remedied Ive stripped several of the boards off to find there isn’t any vertical stiffener A simple rip of plasterboard that reenforces the joint and stops it cracking Make sure your framers put these in

Anytime D

T bar is ideal for unsupported joints Great for trimming around cut outs also Shower trays etc Tap it on the end of the board and fix into the studs before fixing in the middle

A friend of our was in a similar position to you He also was advised to use Osmo with UV protection 12 months on he stripped it all of Against his advise we used it on our oak gates and had a similar problem Expensive and doesn’t do what it says on the tin We both have used a Danish oil Half the price Twice as effective -
£60 on one bag of seed is ridiculous

As previously stated I chose to strip part of our fields top soil in order to bury nearly a 1000 tons of clay from the first plot Then push the top soil back over We tidied up the field on Friday Leaving about three quarters of an acre to seed Called at a local farm Suplies and was told a bag of seed had gone up from £40 to £126 I said to my wife Im not having that We called at another stockiest about five miles away (Coars) Same seed same sacks He said your going to have a shock It’s just gone up from 41 to £60 We are finding this with everything Like fuel Many companies are profiteering Sometimes inconvenient But we must all get used to shopping around

There are some very efficient oil boilers and will work out cheaper to install and run

No I wouldn’t If you can’t live with the grout a bit lighter These DIY products will annoy the hell out of you Bit late for you now We normally mix a good sized blob of grout and leave it on a window cil while we are tiling You would be surprised how many homeowners want to change the shade Thats why most developers choose white or ivory
-
Dremel and a steady hand Make a cut down the centre of the grout Then use a grout raker You would be surprised how often grout colors get mixed up Will take a day on a 30m2 bathroom
-
At £22 m2 A 100 would give a brickie £220 150-200 would be normal

I’ve just bought a box of Senco 65 mil ring 3200 + 3 gas £38 + vat

Gypsum backer board outperforms most boards for shower rooms and is much easier to work with than cement board As a tiler I would use standard moister plasterboard in all wet areas Even wet rooms that are being tanked If water penetrates the tanking membrane It really doesn’t matter what is under there

The ply is nailed at 150 simple to stop it moving For tiling or simply to tidy up split floorboards If the later it will be very thin and can run right up to the skirtings If for tiling Skirtings need taking off before tile
