  1. Yes To be fair I’m working on a large house that has a radon barrier as part of the design We’ve no radon in our area
  2. As above Taping a radon barrier is real basic stuff Your builder either didn’t know this or didn’t care If you have noticed this BC will Tell him to sort it out
  3. Sikaflex
  4. We had no power water stairs plater and they still backdated us
  5. We did a wooden ramp on our last one and moved after he had gone
  6. Your right there I was talking to the installers foreman He said while these are the best they can be The houses arnt suitable With no insulation in the floors He also said Rads arnt really suited to ASHPs UFH would be better with insulation But where do you stop There’s over a 100 k being spent on each property as it stands
  7. Anyone who is thinking of installing a HP to save money on bills is going to be disappointed We have a job installing EWI and render on a local authority estate in Liverpool All have gone over to HPs At 0 cost to themselves There are three Clark’s of works overseeing the renovation So probably a better job than most private builds But all I here from the tenants is that there bills are higher and the heating is slow to heat up We will probably spend about 10 k on ours But need to factor in the cost of getting gas and a boiler to the plot Perhaps 7k So not a lot in it But we have accepted that running costs will be higher than our greenstar boiler Sellers need to be upfront about this In the same way as PV sellers are 😁
  8. You will have to go back to planning
  9. I used about 3 cube at our last one and six cube at our current build Half way up the tank is ok Make sure you fill it to the brim with water once in position Ive seen them Bob up like a cork the following day
  10. If your buying a decent amount they will deal
  11. Over priced Pricing per tile to help fool diyers There sales approach is similar to one of the fast fit tyre and exhaust centres Most of there tiles are end of line Al Murad tend to be end of line But at least they are upfront about it The trade side of top's is fine 60% off Same with there overpriced adhesives £10 for 20 kg of rapid set should be fine
  12. Ask your tiler to get you a discount I pay between 40 and 60 % of the shop price Stay clear of topps

    Site lighting

Festoon LED lights give a better light for working Draped around ceilings and walls They don’t leave you dazzled like some of the floodlights
  15. I would definitely hire if that’s all you need it for
  16. Probably better with a gang rather than one Theres plenty looking for extra CASH You just have to top the site rates
  17. I can still remember the plumbers doing the lead work Now the roofers do this
  18. No i did 😁
  19. My friend Vash turned up this morning and made me a lead ray in the back of his van Very skilled
  20. Exactly Quite common on most builds
  21. I’ve used quite a lot of these Most brands Jouplast are the market leader But expensive 450 sounds high 250 is the highest I’ve used
  22. Don’t underestimate the cost We settled on an arts and crafts design for the roof While they do look nice and will st your build apart from others Our trusses and loose rafters will cost around 12k Another thousand on lead 13 K on slates Laboure would cost a fortune I’ve been on it two weeks and I’m no where near finished I spent two days cutting birds mouths into the trusses prior to the crane arriving
  23. Directly under As pictured on our previous build
  24. Directly under As pictured on our previous build
