-
As above Taping a radon barrier is real basic stuff Your builder either didn’t know this or didn’t care If you have noticed this BC will Tell him to sort it out

Your right there I was talking to the installers foreman He said while these are the best they can be The houses arnt suitable With no insulation in the floors He also said Rads arnt really suited to ASHPs UFH would be better with insulation But where do you stop There’s over a 100 k being spent on each property as it stands

Anyone who is thinking of installing a HP to save money on bills is going to be disappointed We have a job installing EWI and render on a local authority estate in Liverpool All have gone over to HPs At 0 cost to themselves There are three Clark’s of works overseeing the renovation So probably a better job than most private builds But all I here from the tenants is that there bills are higher and the heating is slow to heat up We will probably spend about 10 k on ours But need to factor in the cost of getting gas and a boiler to the plot Perhaps 7k So not a lot in it But we have accepted that running costs will be higher than our greenstar boiler Sellers need to be upfront about this In the same way as PV sellers are 😁

Over priced Pricing per tile to help fool diyers There sales approach is similar to one of the fast fit tyre and exhaust centres Most of there tiles are end of line Al Murad tend to be end of line But at least they are upfront about it The trade side of top's is fine 60% off Same with there overpriced adhesives £10 for 20 kg of rapid set should be fine -

In my limited experience If a digger is struggling It’s not man enough for the job Hiring the next size up will make a massive difference

Festoon LED lights give a better light for working Draped around ceilings and walls They don’t leave you dazzled like some of the floodlights
-
I would definitely hire if that’s all you need it for

Roof Trusses higher on one side by 20mm (not level)
nod replied to connick159's topic in Roofing, Tiling & Slating
Exactly Quite common on most builds -
I’ve used quite a lot of these Most brands Jouplast are the market leader But expensive 450 sounds high 250 is the highest I’ve used
-
Don’t underestimate the cost We settled on an arts and crafts design for the roof While they do look nice and will st your build apart from others Our trusses and loose rafters will cost around 12k Another thousand on lead 13 K on slates Laboure would cost a fortune I’ve been on it two weeks and I’m no where near finished I spent two days cutting birds mouths into the trusses prior to the crane arriving
