    Paving

    Well done looks lovely
  2. No they have microban linings
  3. No idea its just usual MBC house but we are high on a ridgeway so quite exposed that may be partly responsible.
  4. The RH inside my house would often drop into the mid twenties, it caused cracked lips and nosebleeds amongst other things. It made very uncomfortable living at that level of dryness. My optimum RH for my health is a few percent either side of 50. We rarely got above mid 40’s even in wet weather and mid 30’s was the norm. We are a 200sqm single storey with just two occupants (one of whom out all day) plus woofer. One bath, one shower, not a lot lot of ‘wet’ cooking (although at one stage I was boiling pans of water to try and get humidity up and I bought a humidifier too which was a chinese rubbish job). The level of activity in the house did not create much moisture and that may have contributed to our very dry atmosphere plus our exposed windy location. Retrofitting the enthalpy unit - even though expensive- has changed the house totally. We now sit at about 50% RH on average and the house is much more comfortable. Best retro money I have spent only wish I had specced it at the start but I was told I wouldn't need it when I asked.
  5. Thank you I will have a look at it
  6. Yes ideally I would like some sort of automated humidity detect boost. Will have a look to see if I can find @JSHarris switch post. Thank you
  7. I have a very powerful shower and run it hot so lots of condensation for me.
  8. @PeterW do you know how would I go about linking one as a retrofit....is it even possible? Its an absolute pain to have to do it the way we are....and only boost if I am at home to do it!
  9. I wish I had specced humidity sensors and enthalpy unit. As it is I have had to pay vat on enthalpy as bought afterwards and at nearly £1000 not cheap. I dont have the sensors as we didnt wire for them and its a pain as I have to be aware of when someone has shower and zap it up manually. It worries me that when I go away my housesitter will not get to grips with the ipad controls (or forget) to put it up manually and I will come back to a nasty damp wetroom. I have 4 settings. One is a humidity suppressant so if 'off' it will still draw out a bit of moisture. 2. is 30% below building regs, 3. is building regs and 4 is blow your socks off boost.
  10. I signed up and have been accepted onto the programme.... I told them I changed my filters every 4-6 weeks so 6 weeks is the frequency of my sample returns.
  11. Hello and welcome.......land...have you got some or does your 35k have to go in the pot to buy land as well?
  12. Very nice!
  13. I think you are right. I use the F7 filters which seem to be the highest available for my system.....I am sometimes tempted to put my dyson air purifier (with hepa filter) on and see what readings it gives. Its a great air cleaner but no good for ventilation.
  14. @MJNewton I have signed up. will see what comes back. I decided a while back to stop trying to clean up my filthy filters to extend the life of them, clean air worth a few extra quid to me as I am more sensitive than pollution and dirt than most. I change every 4-6 weeks.
  15. MIne didnt use any joining tape
  16. We had them in a rented house.....I hated them both aesthetically and practically. Not to mention they are very much yesterday in style terms.
  17. @dimpsy I’m going to sign up for this thanks. You would think the air should. be clean where I am but I change my filters every month because they get so filthy.
  18. My CO2 in bedroom goes to about 700 overnight.....thats 2 hoomans and a woofer breathing. During the day it drops back to 450-500 which is about where the rest of the house sits as a norm. Other than bathroom boost MVHR is running at about 30% less than building regs as recommended here.
  19. Its been on about 18 months now and is perfect as you say. Its streets ahead of the ordinary k-rend type stuff I have on the block garden walls. @Moira Niedzwiecka has the same alumasc vented facade system, different colour render to me and hers looks lovely too.
  20. We have a silicone render on boards and mesh. Its through coloured and has a guarantee of umpteen years...20 I think. Alumasc vented facade system specifically designed for Timber Frames. I believe its now part of K rend group.
  21. They are usually written on
  22. Cant you just ask her to send you pdf files? Its easy and quick for her to do.
  23. Mine was a B85...I was hugely upset at the time given the efforts and expense we went to on everything. I think without PV its nigh on impossible to get an A under the current system. Given the current parameters your B is good...as was said to me.....doesn't make it any easier to swallow though does it!
