@Amateur bob its a bit like groundhog day! I think answers to the questions you are asking here have already been given in your earlier posts? I think you need professional advice about the timing of the plot transfer. Go and speak to your lawyer and accountant. Then when you see the way to go (and for your father the financial implications of how and when it is done) you can go forward to consider how to approach it and raise funds to build. Just as an aside personally I dont think you will build a 200sqm house for 200k budget to include everything.....planning and drawings, services etc all out of the 200k?

Discount Offers of the Week

Nice.....dare I look I dont actually need anything but I might just want something...... -
Yep I found that sort of thing in our garage....and the inside of the fridge was the pits...so glad I didn't get one of those swanky welfare units installed would have been mightily upset. Interesting item on Radio 4 earlier, student housing....the comments about the use and abuse of nice property by students would equally apply to the builders welfare facilities iIMHO.

My calcs were messed up...nightmare...too late by the time I found out, yes I did question but was assured all was ok. I would have done external blinds as part of the build had I known. The film we fitted is helping no doubt about it but it irks that I had to do this instead of getting it right first time. Having been idly chatting about fitting aircon in some areas if not all..........not progressed further than idle chat at the mo.

So pleased you have at least the beginning of the end in sight.

lizzie replied to nod's topic in Self Build VAT, Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), S106 & Tax
If you have a hob with built in extractor e.g. Bora then you should be able to claim that. -

Double or triple glazing on south facing walls?
lizzie replied to eandg's topic in Windows & Glazing
It was the the heat on the laminated glass that caused the issue for us with choice of (external) film. Lots of different films and different ones from Solarglass in the Sentinel range. We could not have 70 only 50. Its best to get your glass properly assessed if its anything other than the regular toughened. -
Double or triple glazing on south facing walls?
lizzie replied to eandg's topic in Windows & Glazing
I had only one option due to laminated 3g windows. My supplier was excellent they went to a huge amount of effort to ensure they go the right film for us....other suppliers just said use anything but (high) risk is yours or dont use film at all...the guys I used went the extra mile or 10 for me. It is a film made by Solarguard who are part of St Gobain. It was the specialist dept at St Gobain that advised our supplier. As I understand it St Gobain provide the glass for Internorm. Luckily the one and only film for us also came in an extra wide roll so no joins (would not have had film if there had to be joins, no join is invisible) This is my spec sheet from manufacturers.....this film is for laminated glass, if you have toughened then it will be different film but this is the sort of thing suppliers should send you with the sample of film. Double or triple glazing on south facing walls?

@JSHarris I agree with you on the overheating! -
Great idea, I look forward to following progress....love those glamping pod frames!

Ive just noticed I have this black stuff starting around my mvhr vent. Its on white render so easily spotted. Is it Ok just to leave or should I try and clean it off? I have a metal grille fixed over the vent hole and would need to remove that to get at it. Vent is in the back alley so only visible if you go and look at the grille.

@Russell griffiths Agree with @ProDave My friend has one with a dehumidifier fitted and its brilliant....hers is Georgian town house that was been refurbed by Americans with bottomless pockets, even has aircon throughout!
