  1. Can you clean off an area of yours and do another photo as it maybe easier to work out a match. I don't mean sandblasting. Tar.
  2. The one shown in the photo is a 4 x 8 version, judging by the drop down menu at the bottom of the page. The prices quoted are nearly the same as a Boss one and a secondhand Boss one will always hold its price and be easy to resell. I've got a steel 5x5 one ok outdoors to 3m when we'll supported, very good indoors on solid flat surface with wheels on to drag it around upto 5m. All depends on how comfortable and secure you feel at working at height on them. It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!
  3. Where is the planed final destination for the water main? below the kitchen sink? Where does the current one terminate?
  4. Electric bill final reminder wedged in letter flap? Vent on log burner open? Wife won't pause for breath during conversation? Air vent ducting hose fell off from extractor fan? Son's girlfriend can't close her leg's?
  5. Re-done the bathroom on our 90's build one. On the outside we have pantiles ( a couple bounced off my car as I was gutting out the old bathroom) No problems with any of the timber frame or insulation side of the build.
  6. Who owns the lane that runs between yours and your neighbours drives? Do you have a legal right of way along it to access your rear garden with a vehicle?
  7. What ever you buy make sure it will take 10 sheets of 8x4. Personally I'd go for a Transit or Mercedes pickup
  8. If you get any form of leak, in the sealant or pipework, blockage in the trap your in for a whole load of grief if the area is pumped full of that stuff.
  9. Have you got someone that can do a drone survey for you?
  10. If the property has a mortgage on it or not then your insurers will sort out contractor's for it, and get the quotes for the work to be done, unless you don't have buildings insurance.
  11. Local Authorities.... Think there all still working from home
  12. Temporary repair as he probably couldn't find matching ridge tiles or if he could he probably didn't want a fiddly job doing the cuts. Maybe try and find the ridge tiles yourself then the next contractor won't have an excuse.
  13. Well done on the purchase of some mud topped off with grass !!! the hard work and increase in stress levels.....starts now. Nice crimbo present you've brought for yourself. 🥳
  14. WHAT.....££££££££
  15. Welcome. Sounds like your quite advanced now. Did they have any problems with the planning and building regulations side of things for the site. ?
  16. Welcome on board. The pitch of the roof looks shallow for that style of tile. We're they specified by the architect ?
  17. Best trap blockage I came across was a radiator valve control cap. Installed by a plumber who had a big bag of loose fittings and this made its way inside a trap that he just hooked up.
  18. Did you tell them you we're practicing for the winter Olympics and there are no other ski slopes locally?
  19. Turn off mains water, drain all hot and cold water systems. If you won't be using the current central heating system again, then you can drain that down. We've got a couple of oil filled radiators that are set up on timer during this cold spell just to keep the property above freezing point. As soon as the temperature changes next week these will be turned off again. Everyone's situation is different as it depends on the type and build of the property and its location.
  20. Some one locally removed there's put it all in a nice neat pile and advertised it on Facebook - free roofing sheets..... yes and someone took them up on their offer.
  21. Put detailed PP in for your bungalow in the garden, when it's approved fence off the plot, then put in PP for your own extension.
  22. Some day rate builders are epic, time served, been in the game most of their working lives, know all the building regs, and can run the job for you and advise every step of the way. Some day rate builders aren't worth a day rate.
  23. Where does the gully drain exit to? Why are the block pavers laid tight to the brickwork? Chemical injected dpc, back to the 70 / 80s. Are they still in the form of ice pops? insert them in a hole and let them melt.
  24. Get one. Always handy for picking up bargains that come up on Facebook or gumtree etc. Small loads of bagged materials, along with lengths of timber when you realise your a few meters short. It may spend a lot of it's idle but when it's needed it's indispensable.
