Don't think so

I bought a couple of sets of this at the start of my build, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-D-I-Y-Steel-Scaffold-Tower-Scaffolding-Tower-4x4x18wh-HD-/351676015741?hash=item51e186247d:g:hekAAOxy4XNSQr~7 Pros: fairly cheap, small sections (easy to store) looks crap (less likely to be stolen) very quick to put up Cons: 2' increments need to buy boards no wheels ( possibly an extra?) supposedly there dangerous only 4' wide. If I'm brutally honest for the jobs you listed a decent step ladder is probably the best option in terms of storage, erection time and cost, how many hours are you realistically going to spend on it?

Patination Oil to lead - to coat or not

Saw a gang peg tiling an old grain store off band stands fully extended 3 high! Even scared me a little. -

If the scaffold is still up I would. -
that is a very nice job you have made there

all the lead work i have seen done on our sites gets a coat, It goes a surprisingly long way, if you are going to clean them anyway, and can actually access them I can't see putting it on now will be detrimental. If you were just going to leave them, i would continue doing that, the patination oil will last so long anyway, not worth falling off a ladder for IMO -

Wifi Extenders
Construction Channel replied to Crofter's topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
Have you got a power line going between the houses? we've got an extender that uses the power lines to carry the signal, supposedly, I don't trust it, but it seems to work somehow, plug the transmitter into the router and a wall socket, then the receiver into virtually any other socket, i even had it running off a 50m extension lead to get WIFI into my workshop not this model, but similar and same brand http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TP-Link-TL-WPA4220KIT-AV500-Powerline-300M-Wi-FI-Extender-Two-Ports-Home-Plug/281497297768?_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226&_trkparms=aid%3D555014%26algo%3DPL.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20151005190540%26meid%3D7e95933ad4b748af8c4dfde36893594f%26pid%3D100505%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26 -
would it fit if you started from the top? probably the best place to start anyway......... saying that there probably isn't anything needed above the trigger anyway, How would you feel about "modifying" the Jigsaw?

40 grit paper on a belt sander. Possibly take the bulk off with a saw depending how much you plan to remove.

Window board/cill/sill material
Construction Channel replied to Shell820810's topic in Windows & Glazing
If you are planning to paint them MDF will be fine. Just make sure they don't get wet before you have painted them. They will still "blow" while they are only primed. Fwiw 300mm pine window boards from most merchants will be 2 6" boards laminated together ( no biscuits) and end up at 284mm iirc -
I knew you had just filled it up otherwise you wouldn't have asked. im not going to be the guy to say its a good idea because thats a silly idea, probably best to wait for someone with some real knowledge on the situation, have you got any thin sheet metal about you could hold between them to stop the actual sparks hitting the tank?
-
Sad news at least you caught it before the whole arm fell off. how much diesel is in the tank and is the tank metal?

Time Lapse of digout

its the bucket size that amuses me, back when we were doing a big ground work Job we brought 2 diggers with us an 8t and a 13t (i was in the 8t) it was working well as Joe (in the 13t) did the main pulls while I did the returns and loaded the lorries from the top of the heap. that was until the PM decided he wanted to get a 1.5t machine in to.......... well supposedly to clear the footings after they had been poured but I'm fairly sure i could have done it quicker with a shovel. back to the amusing part, The PM was working within my reach while i was digging one of the last returns, he would get say 10-15 of his bucket full in a pile, I would clear that pile in one hit and put it in my pile, then i would put another 8-10 of my buckets in that pile and then Joe would clear that entire pile in one hit and go back to loading lorries from the top of the heap I suppose you had to be there but it is amazing to see how much the bigger machines can move when you get them all in a row like that.. Nice time-lapse though, could i suggest some music or commentary? -
Mr Utility is my kinda guy i would be annoyed about the £50 for what seems to be a casual chat. But all he was ever going to do at best was measure from the marked points on the map. anyway it's the power cables you need to worry about

did you ask if he wanted you to put bricks in your toilet cisterns? we had a similar NHBC inspector on the one and only job we used them, we called him 10 yr Ted and TBH it was almost getting to the stage of carrying out his instructions to the letter just to watch them fail and rub it in his face, eventually they had to send a different inspector because of the "abuse" ROFL some people just don't like getting repetitively proved wrong even if they do have a book,,,

I'm a "Jack of all" No point me suggesting a bodge until someone sensible has gone there first But as for pressure testing you could always test that joint first, ......its not going to leak over that sort of jiggery pokery..... if it does,,,,,blame Nick
-
didn't want to be the first to say it but as Nick said, just pull it square, you could always cut your male end pissed if it helped you sleep at night but i really can't see it being an issue, FWIW i have heard mixed reviews about the adjustable bends, many say they have never had a problem, a few others have said they are always the joint that leaks, realistically as long as it is above ground and not encased in concrete whats the worst that can happen??

If nothing else it is a massive compliment to your sub base we've had a few new roundabouts towards haverhill where the ring of pavers has lasted less than week interestingly my parents decided to Block pave the farm yard with 90mm pavers that my dad found cheap on eBay, he has only done about 1/4 of it but they have been holding out well for the last 5-6 years...
