  1. what screws ya been buying? i can't recall ever actually being told the difference or advantages but i would assume the twin threads go in faster but are more aggressive,
  2. I agree that A3 Is about as big as you want on site, Laminated would be a luxury, personally i would just leave them plain A3 and have an A3 scanner available, ( i think my A3 scanner printer was about £110) Give everyone a copy and make sure it is clearly marked what edition they are. If you change something it will be fairly cheap and easy to run a batch of the new editions off and burn the old copies so there is no confusion
  3. No, but it might get browsed over by an innocent bystander just seeing how other "introducing yourself" posts went down. nothing was even close to being a problem yet.........but iv been in whats app conversations like this before and were very close to the Porn section.
  4. have you considered keeping pigs?
  5. you got it, its mainly mods here and a new friend so the convo is going on as it would on site, Fine by me, BUT this is a public section and anyone can read this so lets not go TOO far, seriously its fine so far in my books but i fear this might have become a slippery slope
  6. Welcome aboard
  7. i used a go pro,
  8. Take as many as possible. Size of memory card /size of picture x hours of daylight ^ you get what I mean. Try to make a days photos fill the card. More photos = better time lapse ?
  9. If your screwing into oak it helps to lubricate the screw along with the pilot hole. Smear a bit of grease/wax/soap on the end of the screw first. It helps a lot.
  10. didn't even see the link........and i even quoted it
  11. I think we are going to need a more detailed description of what you want things to do. Are you after a constant drip feed into the tank or just a tap near the tank to fill it up. Either way you will need to condition the water before you add it to help remove the heavy metals. Do you live in a hard or soft water area? What at fish are you planning to keep? what sort of filter system? E.g if useing a sump filter you can usually put the heater in that. I have also read somewhere before you can adjust the tanks levels by adding rain water but I can't remember if this was PH or hardness. As someone said fish keeping forums are probably the place to ask. But I have been on a few in the past and I haven't found one to be overly welcoming yet. Also so are you useing uk or us gallons?
  12. All the ones I have ever used are completely submergable. Just search for aquarium heater. There usually quite cheap. BTW don't turn it on before you put it in the water. I accidentally left mine on out of the water for a while and it exploded when I put it back in.
  13. Nice name I think you have now become the first person on build hub to actually "sell it afterwards" sad day, but good to know its staying local.
  14. Depends how much you want to play on a mini digger and how many things there are to potentially hit. E.g underground services and buildings near by. Mini diggers are fairly easy to get the hang of. Just ask @recoveringacademic
  15. looks like a gooden, maybe put a new edge on it and take the old cement off, (i like the grinder disks with the flappy sandpaper bits for this) bit of linseed oil on the handle......better than a new one
  16. well I want to see a picture now. are you planning to cut it?
  17. best part was i have already got more than enough shovels of varying shapes and sizes, but i had 3 more in the basket before i realised i was just looking at a price for someone else
  18. that is cheap. I instinctively started making the order up to £50 to get free delivery until i realised i didn't actually need to buy anything
  19. "old" shovels will generally be better steel, assuming it is really old, FWIW iv got the rest of the spear and jackson range and they have done me well, steer clear of the rough neck and faithful options as they have HUGE welds just where you want to put your lower hand
  20. yes, they said i couldn't split it first one broke the wood first in fairness but the second one tore eventually with enough twisting. Ill give you its strong. but i don't like being beaten
  21. man up and twist harder,
  22. good shout on the jubilee, possibly some denso tape if the ct1 doesnt work
  23. That makes sense. Tbh i was quite impressed with the picture that had little suspension struts. metal hard against the joists just didn't make sense to me.
  24. good point, hadn't thought of that one
