the flex on almost all modern tools are pathetic, cheap skate manufacturers, but TBH almost everything i run now a days is cordless, that SDS (god rest its soul) the belt sander and the router are pretty much the only corded hand held tools we still run
-
im not doing it, its a company tool and I'm going to let it die peacefully plus its only got about a foot of flex left now since i hacked off the rest of its lead with the back of my claw hammer.

They don't seem to be on this model. To get at them I would need to take the entire casing off. Which I'm sure would end up in a terrible mess considering the amount of grease about the place. Ill just let it die in one piece. It has done enough for me already.

Today is a sad day, After over 5 years of dutiful service my Makita SDS has drilled its last hole I have put this through some serious abuse over its time with me, its cored 6" holes through concrete, drilled probably tens of thousands of reasonable sized holes for me. broken down numerous walls, its been dropped in a river, its had no grease in its gearbox for months, and today I finally managed to burn out its brushes......

Indeed congratulations Joe, Its been a long time coming........ -
i also had this thought when i first heard of the idea, also with the heating and cooling, after hours of thinking through what could possibly happen it occurred to me that even if the pipes did move enough in the concrete that they wore against the steel it would only ever take off the surface as the concrete would then be holding the rest of the pipe away from the steel.

the local Ridgeons was having a clearance sale, definition of a bargain, something i didn't need at a price i couldn't refuse. even if i scrap them ill make a small profit also got a bath for £20 taps for the bath and kitchen sink £15 each and a 200mm fixed shower head for a tenner
-
I bought 43 of these for £1.20 each INC if you want a really cheap sink shipping might be a bit of an issue though

do you have any other cordless tools? saying that the Makita one is over £100 so I'm just going to stick with my head torch, I have seen other people using Faithful ones like this before but only inside and not for long so i can't really comment on battery life or brightness -

get one that takes the batteries you already have. i take it you already run Bosch cordless? they must make a work light for your voltage -
Welcome aboard

i wouldn't worry about never using one. just keep your hands away from the spiny bits. 35m really isn't a lot, you can always sell it afterwards

Creaking and Crackling Floor/Ceiling noises
Construction Channel replied to daiking's topic in General Construction Issues
I like your terminology, but i think isolating the sound is probably the next step. try and find the point in the floor that makes it make that sound and then look for what could be connected to it -
you could just buy a planner..........?

Creaking and Crackling Floor/Ceiling noises

might be a long shot but are your internal walls plasterboard or rendered and skimmed? If rendered it could (once again "long shot") be the plasterboard on the ceiling slipping past the conduits on the walls...... how loud is it?
