1. I use a company called fibrewifi.com. 15mb up and down 100gb monthly usage £15 / month. But it appears they are only in east anglia.
2. until

I didn't even know we had a calendar
3. jigsaw and 3mm ply, but they wont have the nice rough surface of shop bought biscuits, what are you planning to biscuit joint?
4. that is indeed a big day
5. I suppose you have a point, possibly get some of these, Might make things easier, you could even get Rolly to wire them up with his dexterous little fingers https://www.screwfix.com/p/abb-straight-plug-16a-2p-e-250v-6h-ip44/3017F?tc=MA3&ds_rl=1248181&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249481&gclid=Cj0KCQiAvrfSBRC2ARIsAFumcm_AiGYV2dgk8TM6rfIfL_yAXIMSuAMKYD1IeSH2CI-wp774sTY2z2waAiR-EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CKOu3ISwvtgCFUGuUQodMpwLLg
6. I would say a minimum of 4, if you are willing to buy fake ones go for 6, 2 chargers would be ideal also agree with running leads to most of the lights, Led are better just because the bulbs don't break anywhere as easily, I dont really understand the safety thing about running leads, I run 240 everyday and touch wood i have never gone through a lead, i cant see why anyone would?
7. good point, probably best to put a sacrificial bit of wood between the wedges and the skirting
8. i'm fairly sure this is what he means viewed from above as this is pertty much the definition of "folding" wedges. I would add this will only work if you are working on an unfinished floor e.g will be carpeted. if you are painting the skirting personally I would just screw it to the wall wherever you have got a big gap TBH Nick's way would work fine as long as you put your foot against it while you put the screw in
9. looks like you have used the rest of the tile you cut before the mosaic to carry on which IMO looks fine. only suggestion would be to mirror the same cuts on the left-hand wall. you cant rush perfection, but as Nick said earlier once its grouted you will be the only person that cares
10. I was going to say that I’m sure you could have mocked this up on cad and made any alterations a lot quicker. But then again who am I to say about doing things quickly. ?
11. Shame. Very impressive all the same though
12. please tell me the waste pipe is a hula hoop.....
13. Worked: making a plan of what to complete in 2017 Didn't work: fulfilling said plan......
14. been my motto/ mantra for a long time now. it helps that i am incredibly charming
15.
brilliant, thanks :)
now we just need to find a way to make it a button on the editor ..... @TerryE ?
16. don't panic, you did the right thing, it was the rest of us that handled it badly...... the forum should be open to everyone no matter how easily offended they are, the rest of us just need to make it hard for them to "stumble" across our more questionable content
17. yes, this would have been the perfect. but how did you do it?
18. https://www.flickr.com sign up for a free account, upload the picture to there, copy the link and paste it here
19. looks like a massive PITA to me, if they were wide enough to span the gap, maybe, but as they don't you will have to wedge them together to try and get them to stay in, then you would ideally want to stick them all together with either LE foam or possibly some Pu glue, then technically you would want to foil tape all the joints. possibly use them to finish the last pair if you run short but I definitely wouldn't start the job with them, also FWIW i have heard that Celotex is going up again in the new year, so if you are going to order some i recommend ordering them before the weekend
20. https://www.designingbuildings.co.uk/wiki/M&E M&E' in construction refers to mechanical and electrical systems. I didnt know either
21. how about uploading it somewhere else ( like flikr) then just post the link with a suitable warning. TBH the topic title was enough warning for me.. :)
22. no pic for me...... Fwiw most of my tools have either got a construction channel sticker or blue spray paint on them, (most have both) for the same reason
23. Pretty much as you have described. But make sure you only put 1-2” of gravel on it. Or even better if you use crushed stone it doesn’t move quite as much.
