Yup. It's a PU isn't it? Did you damp the joints with a cloth first ?

Nice bit of finishing work though, considering the only tool I can see is a lump hammer

To hell with the table, what a beautiful weight.

What is minimum drop for waste pipe?
Nickfromwales replied to TheMitchells's topic in Waste & Sewerage
A long radius bend will give a near silent change of direction for the 'contents' of the pipe. 2 x 45's may create a bit more noise IMO. Have you thought about getting a camera survey done. A bit more concise than dowsing tbh, and if you'll be excavating then I'd want 'concrete' evidence before the shovel came out. Call me sceptical but I'm on the fence with this dowsing business . Fwiw, as long as you have 5mm + per metre you'll be fine. Just getting BCO to be happy will be the grief but I've got of the hook before by being able to demonstrate the operation of the soil network, from flushed item ( big handful of bog roll ) to the manhole outside. Fitting a Y-branch directly after ( downstream ) of the swept bend will get you, ahem, brownie points -

Warm Water Coming From CWS Tank Overflow Pipe

Does your shower use an impeller pump? -
All the PRV's I've seen ( on the multiblocks ) have had an integral stainless gauze filter. I can't recall if a regular / stand alone PRV has one or not. Do you have the link to your one? If your reading the instructions I assume you've bought one already?

Drill an 18mm hole and just wrap it with insulation tape. If you make the hole too big you'll stuff yourself when you come to drill and fix it. The fixing holes are quite tight to the pipe so don't take away the brickwork that you'll need to drill, plug and screw into

Cheapy one off eBay or gum tree. A ladder will not suffice. Health and safety would have a field day and you'd also have to get some form of mechanical handling sorted for carrying plasterboard a etc as a ladder won't have the weight capacity. I did the same on an extension so we didn't have to go through the existing house. I used 9x2" for the sides and treads with glue and chunky screws. Carried all the sheet material up it so two guys and gear at a time without a creak. Securing it well top and bottom is of equal importance as it doesn't matter how strong the stairs are if they aren't secured properly. Pay close attention and inspect it weekly, ( as if you provide it you'll be responsible for making sure it's safe and for keeping it that way ).

A bit cheaper here Tbh, it's a bit naff for circa £600 imho. Check out this bad boy for comparison.

Facing that whole elevation with 18mm ply, glued and screwed, will regain the strength you lose from chopping out. .

Thoughts on a Filler product suitable against EPS
Nickfromwales replied to IanR's topic in Foundations
You may benefit from using a low expansion ( LE ) foam. Don't forget to have some solvent gun cleaner to hand to clean any wet foam / overspill off. Do that immediately if required. Mask sensitive areas as the foam can expand and adhere to adjacent surfaces. Very hard to impossible to clean off certain things . -

Glad I quoted you £50 a tile now. Think I dodged a bullet there ?? -
Shower head - water saving nonsense?
Nickfromwales replied to ProDave's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
It would have been an EU regulated fitting so you just bin the restrictor and replace it with a normal rubber washer, if required. Try taking a modern mixer tap spout apart and see how many different grade gauzes there are and how much they reduced the flow rate. They aerate the water too so it looks like there's more coming out, but when you fill a glass you see how little water is actually coming out. Fear not, Brexit wil take care of that . -

Cut a bit of MDF and use that as a baffle until your ready. If you part tile you risk chipping the edges of the last row where they're exposed. -

Good to see you went with the DITRA mat. The job I was on a while back ( oil heating and hot water ) had the builder and his son doing a stand up job of fitting 900x900x20mm porcelain. Cuts were with a wet fed Stihl petrol disc as nothing else would touch it. I took the opportunity to 'test drive' my Rubi 900mm scribe and snap cutter as it states up to 900mm tiles at 20mm thick. Got 850mm of ot to cut straight but the last 50mm curved off. Probably down to the wrong wheel tbh, but not bad going for a £370 tile cutter I thought They laid them perfect and grouted with a like coloured grout. The wife walked in at the end of the day and just said "I don't like the grout colour, can you take it out and use a different colour?". I felt for those guys that day, grouting is a pita, but taking it out is even worse ( without damaging £18k worth of tiles that was ). Id have said "give it a few years luv, the colour will grow on you" -

Transition between tiles and shower panels
Nickfromwales replied to Stones's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
If im only tiling the shower area I will set the tiles to finish dead on the outside edge of the shower enclosure profile. Then I'll either put a quadrant or a square trim and the plaster / paint gets cut into that. The trim is on display, but the polished chrome ones look part of the shower cubicle, until you get to the point where the cubicle runs out and you have a deficit to the ceiling ( if going full height ). Quite hard to comment further without some pics of / links to your chosen setup . Feel free to post the info if easier ( if your still at the 'hypothetical' stage ) -
