  1. Yup. Common fault. Mine does the same. I just rest it against the floor and push it back straight, it will go. . Have you done your online registration for the 3-year warranty? Mines been repaired about once each year ( completely free no quibble ) but mine gets an absolute hammering in fairness.
  2. Thanks for all the varied info. All good stuff.
  3. Honesty is the best policy The only thing that will let you down is that rubber seal onto the compression tee. I had a few let me down in my 'early years' and don't risk it anymore.
  4. You should have a flat faced copper to iron ( 15x1/2 male ) and the female end of the flexi turns onto that. Did you misinterpret my drawing or did you just freestyle it ? The nut and olive side of the flexi should have been teed into the vertical drop and made off to copper pipe leaving the flexi end to go straight onto the cistern inlet / stem. I leave you alone for 5 minutes..........
  5. A buffer is basically a wet capacitor that acts as a sponge which absorbs energy and smooths out the delivery. Heating goes via that so, for eg, Ufh can draw lower amounts of heat than the heat source can provide ( lowest modulation / temp setting etc ) when the house is up to 'operating' temperature. It is a TS in essence, but we normally name the two differently when more than one application is required from said vessel. Eg when you add another coil for dhw production you'd typically then not refer to it as a buffer as it's not just a dumb vessel anymore.
  6. Isn't the slab an emitter not a storage device?
  7. Says carpets, curtains and duvets don't apply. Does a LL become liable if the tenant brings non-compliant furniture in? That must be difficult to enforce unless the LL inspects regularly. I'll pass this info on, thanks.
  8. Indeed. Most thermostatic shower manufacturers will list the temp difference 'ratios' in the MI's.
  9. That's not what was in my uber crap drawing . The flexi going straight onto the compression fitting isn't cricket I'm afraid. Is this a temporary arrangement until the framed WC goes in ?
  10. You call it boring stuff, I call it invaluable. Didnt know about that so I'll pass that on. Thanks. What about the carpets ?( as I'm doing the whole 9 yards, less furniture and soft furnishings )
  11. Yup. They wavered at first with the umms and ahhs, I dropped some build hub recently inherited 'terminology' on them and next thing you know, it's chips and gravy. Thats how we roll. "Free boilers for everyone *" * you must be accompanied by both sets of living great grandparents to qualify for a free boiler *
  12. The instants do draw silly amounts of electric. Storing water encounters the losses associated with doing so. Double edge sword tbh. @ProDave Those instants do seem to give good flow rates, and I thought they were much more expensive than that so deffo a contender where electric supply allows. 13a supply will do 300 + litres uvc .
  13. "Banging tune" ? Doubly dark horse you are !
  14. Update. Have spoken to both PP and BC this morning, quoting the various bits of info above from you good people, and it's quite clear that neither PP, PD nor ( amazingly ) is BC required as they're not change of use. Quoted the timescales of previous occupancy etc and use, and inherited status etc, and no resistance whatsoever. RESULT ! Ive insisted, however, that BCO calls out to examine the property from head to toe so I can sleep at night ( and more importantly the residents of the flats ) and that's taking place tomorrow morning at 11:30. Spoke to the attending BC officer and what a thoroughly nice bloke. He said he'd call around, no fees required, and advise me accordingly. Should he deem intervention necessary then we'll stump up and tow the line. Many thanks again for the help and advice. Ill round this off after the site meeting.
  15. +1. 4mm2 min as the price difference is chicken feed.
  16. Get your arse around there and speak to them. Explain the cost involved in cleaning and securing the site ALONE, and ask if they'd let you adopt it.
  17. There good for 10 bar so don't see why not. Only worry is the angle. Can you re drill it?
  18. What does your gut say? £5k / £10k?
  19. Say NOTHING of the sort until your asked to do so. Just say that your not interested in developing it, and no more.
  20. Call me old fashioned, but why not just go and ask them if they'll sell and if so how much please?
  21. They also need quite beefy cable sizes too, if any significant distance away from the driver.
  22. Cut, scrap, move on
