  1. Cant happen here you'll be glad to know. We have a structure which avoids SPoF and no individual can make any such decision on their own. The FMG ( made up of 17 staff / members ) get together and discuss it like grown ups, we discuss it, and it gets voted against, or for, if there are mixed opinions. You'd have to seriously piss us off before getting shown the door. Only one has earned such privilege to date IIRC. Enjoy!
  2. Its a strange scheme tbh. If export is to the DNO, and the FiT is deemed from installation, as is, then the only thing that should happen if you move things around or add a couple more NW panels is the FiT stays the same and you export a little more to the DNO......So bloody what ?!? Would adding panels afterwards see you getting more out of the government or do they use your total deemed 'revenue' as the benchmark for your payments? Another ill-thought-through sack-o-crap afaic. With a recognised export limiting device there should be no repercussions if you decide to 'beef up' or optimise your system later down the line.
  3. Look at the Apollo Gem and My Energi’s Eddi unit. Very versatile and the ME Zappi will sort the EV charging out.
  4. Time for a new plumber. Jeez !
  5. Excellent idea, the chicken will cook much quicker in one of those than if it were just sat on the hob ?
  6. I can recall the MI’s with one stating NOT to have cutlery or metal utensils immediately below for whatever reason.
  7. Yes, but felt over felt isn't a good example and the OP expressed anxiety over their brand new, sarked, membraned roof so I'm going with apples not rotten tomatoes
  8. JFDI. If she comes around to moan, bend the tree over, one up the jacksy, let go of the tree and bingo. Theres your xmas 'seasonal festive' fairy lol.
  9. 20mm over 3000mm will be more than enough to stave off standing water. Get a length of 28mm copper pipe, stick a 20mm chock under one end and pop a marble in. This isn't something you should be worrying about tbh, and most 'flat' roofs I've seen have been in for decades with pooling water, leaf litter, grot and more and don't leak one drop. As long as the boarding has been done well, and the firring pieces in at 400mm centres max, then I'd say this'll work just fine. As asked, have you done a run-off test with a hose / had a bit of rain on it yet? Proof is in the pudding
  10. Weather comp, as your typical generic OEM unit, is quite an arse from my direct experience. Vaillants offering was more like a bloody switch than a real time variable / compensation device Then I had the added grief of wanting to apply it to a house with a system boiler and GF UFH / FF RADS + UVC which meant when WC kicked in and attenuated the boiler flow the rads cooled down but the UFH became U/S. Ok I thought until they said the s-bus system wasn't clever enough to ramp the temp up when providing DHW to the cylinder via an S-plan. OK again I thought, ill do W plan DHW priority. Nope. Not supported as WC still governed the max flow temp. I think WC is massively over rated, over complicated, poorly executed and very mis-understood. Good controls are the better investment eg room stats with very short hysteresis, digital not rotary / mechanical, and lashings of user awareness of how and why things do what they do. Most folk still think a TRV on a radiator controls the radiator temp
  11. They’ll be too busy seeing if you have put an AAV on your ground floor WC.
  12. I use a strategic partner to undertake my PV referrals. They supply and fit direct to the client. I did look at undertaking the install on a non MCS basis, but it still has to be registered and notified to the DNO with the equipment listed so for larger or more bespoke installs I just found it wasn’t worth ‘getting in the middle’ tbh. PM if you want details of the installers, but for DIY you’ll get all the answers right here. Ill post a link to the SE inverter ASAP. What’s the warranty like with the SB inverter please?
  13. Link to follow.
  14. Solar Edge Fill the roof up and export only 3.8kW ? Remember you should use this to mitigate against costly uplift caused by mandatory DNO infrastructure improvements. Fit a solar edge and tell them to FO. Aside from that the SE inverter is also attractive because it uses dry capacitors and comes with a 12 year warranty. Happy days.
  15. Something said during the “McEwans event” must have hit home.
  16. +1 to asking if BCO is involved. That'll shiver the timbers if they're doing this "off the radar". Stop them now and tell them if the soil doesn't come out you'll be taking action against them for damages. Get photos, lots of them, and put your foot down. Are you on ok talking terms with them? The soil CANNOT stay in there. Idiots. If the top is then open to the elements it should be capped and lead flashed to promote natural run-off for any rainwater.
  17. Well if we dont approve of the style you choose you'll be getting changed over to 'Eyesore' Hi and welcome ( back ) to the madhouse. Were you in contact with any other absent members?
  18. Dunno..... I put the Bat-sign up but nowt yet. Probably shouldn't have used a solar powered one ?
  19. It must have been love lol. Happy days. When you building the second one?
  20. No idea.......and don't call me Shirley
  21. He's alive! Yay !! Thats looking really smart, you must be chuffed. Paying guests using it now ?
  22. I have a 2007 3.0ah and its still going. Even the guys in CNS cannot believe it. Its brother snuffed it years ago.
  23. I'm still struggling to find anything that backs that timeframe up tbh. Google doesn't exactly offer anything up on a cheeky scan. Some professionals seem to think it will last much longer than 5 years.
  24. Or play one of the default tunes but yes it does make a noise when the battery is charged but the single beep option often goes unnoticed if your 'at it'.
  25. I suppose it’s too late to say use stainless and get it TIG welded and buffed.
