400mm for sure. We've got 600mm and its not as good as I wanted. A mate had 400mm and his floors are rock solid. Spend a few extra pennies now & be happy later. Is your plumber using copper pipe? If so you may want to put this in as the joists go in. Plastic you're OK.

Dear reader, Spent the day putting spot lights in the bathrooms & ensuites. Turned the one below on and thought bugger. Not what I expected. The walls need tiling (smart white tiles) so that may reduce the shadow a bit and the reflection from the shower head I can reduce with some black material stuck to the top but I still think the shadow will be really noticeable SO does anyone have any ideas? The current lights (Enlite E5) have a 60deg spread - one with a narrower beam would help but I suspect it would be a marginal improvement. Help!

you can also use a flat screwdriver to scrape it out if there's a lot. Are you back buttering the tiles as well? Why 10mm? Big tiles? I've finished doing one ensuite, got the main bathroom & a second ensuite to go. May get a pro in - just to speed the job up. Its a great feeling when you finish

That resin idea sounds worth a bash. Expensive?

Good luck with that @joe90 - know the sound but I left ours there since they weren't causing any probs.

6mths. Agreed a flat fee so i wasn't too worried.

Induction for us. Got one now - just brilliant.

Never heard of a pro tiler using pre mix before....

Just bumping this. I'd rather not use more of the current stuff (pot time is too short) - just interested in what you all use and the rough price. Cheers

Arent those tiles meant to be on the wall. Over half way through my wall tiling although its not as big an area as @Onoff Out of interest - what adhesive do you all use and how much is it? Got some rapid set stuff now - too rapid. Getting bored of cleaning gear after every 5 tiles!

I've got that Leica one with the better receiver. The pets parts for the money. No intention of selling mine.

Try asking on a few sites. Try a few recent self builds - chance are they will know what the bricks were. You will agonise about this decision (well we did) but in the end you just grow to accept whatever you buy I suspect. Good luck

Get back to tiling and wait for solution to come to you? -
relax son, looks good so far. I don't think I will be done before you will be! Got a few outdoor jobs to do - winters drawing in so can't leave them later so tiling will need to take 2nd place. Will grout floor next weekend & might start wall tiling.....
-
funny how every flat surface gathers crap - window sill looks as if it would struggle to accommodate a beer glass even - is that the real purpose of the bath cover? Going to finish the floor tiles on one (of 3) bathroom floor tomorrow night after work - I hate tiling but this ones seems to be going OK as far as I am concerned - catching up with you @Onoff!
-
Ditto here. Can see an issue - just end up with a slightly thicker bed.

Some people really make your own efforts look rubbish...... Fantastic piece of work

What about freezing weather? Its a long length of pipe outside. Just a thought. Others will know the answer I'm sure. -
25m2 - bugger, I need to get a shift on, 1/10th of thats about my daily target! Backs buttered as well?
-
Limits or elimates chance of cracked tiles due to floor movement. About £10/m2. I started our tiling last night - lot less progress than that though!

Ours were just glued. I screwed them all subsequently - q a bit of time needed and screws werent cheap. Time and money well spent. Wish we had 400mm centres throughout.
