experience is something you needed 10 minutes ago but only have now.
-
do you work in management then?

Amazing what white silicone will hide. My tiles are a bit like that - the walls aren't entirely flat so you do the best you can, grout and then forget. No one else will know your imperfections as well as you do (plus all the forum members of course). Carry on tiling unless you want to see Jennifer with loads of wrinkles.

Looks good @Onoff, have you booked entertainment for the grand opening? Will the event be broadcast on the web for those of us too far to visit in person? ?
-
@Onoff you are normally positive - so its odd for you, that's all.
-
Have we missed the positive ending @Onoff?

Great letter. Good luck.

I think I would grout and see. Since you are doing it - you know where all the mistakes are - bet no one else will notice. You can always blame the wall behind / old house / variability in the tiles. ?
-
Makes my attempt look very sloppy. The good news is that when silicone and cover plate goes on, mine will look the same!
-
used these before but didnt think they were rated for showers. Will keep them in mind.?

Not too keen on drilling into my mvhr duct! Will tile it all first and then see where we are. Happy to put spot in there as long as Nick comes up to bash it off - leave him in there with tiles and adhesive and lock the door....
-
Can you do some tiling after you've removed the spot light?

The Build - Things have got very messy!

All looks really good. -
Will you be done by Xmas?

Not too sure her in doors will want too much drama. Going to leave as is for now. ?

Cutting that tile will be a steady old job - too much beans and the tile might snap. Ive got the same valve but 2 tiles span it - easier cutting. White grout planned?
-
Did notice that, not 100% sure it will do the job. Should have used it & mounted lamp further out.
-
I normally connect straight in. Bit of silicone if you are worried.
-
time spent worrying about small insignificant stuff does stop you worrying about the big important pressing decisions! Denial is the way forward!

With that CTD deal I think the customers get 20% list as well. That adhesive is cheap - 20kg? I'm going to avoid fast set with my next purchase - it just goes off too fast & you end up wasting time mixing small quantities and cleaning down far too often. Worth paying more per bag for a slow setting one. Paid £16 incl VAT for some last time but need it to be white rather than dark for the walls. Grinder works well @Onoff - just practice a bit first. I cut all the floor tiles around the curved shower tray using one - slow & steady. I didn't use any water before you ask.
-
tile saw to join the holes? I'd prob use the tile saw or a 4.5" angle grinder with stone cutting works well if the curve isn't too tight (watch the 'rear' of the disk as it comes up - it chips the tile. lay the grinder well over and work away from the line as you go down and then clean up at the end. Play with some offcuts). I hate it when you've still got Q a bit of adhesive left - too much to throw away, but you really want to quit! Looks good.
-
I hesitate to ask - but whats the worst you've seen......
-
Can't a man worry about something??? OK - I will just get on with the tiling & then see how it is. I like the idea of a spot on a mount if necessary. Thanks for the words of wisdom. I did wonder about something like this: http://brestdaily.info/shower-base-types/shower-base-types-14-best-bathroom-shower-pan-images-on-pinterest/ That could be retro fitted if necessary.

back buttering the tiles as well? So an adhesive bed of 10mm?
-
the screwdriver is OK if you are gentle but agree with Nick - a spacer would be just the job.
