I'm liking the use of light

On the garage the ridge and hip tiles are identical. Just cut as per the image above.

Out of interest where have you sourced it. I've got a large area of roof underside (it's an overhang where the wall steps in, hard to describe) that I need to clad with something and was pondering a bonded aluminium type product.

That's interesting. I could easily surmise that this might be the route of the colourcoat teams issues. They weren't shy in openly telling me that they were massively under resourced by Tata and simply didn't have the staff to deal with existing, let alone new enquiries. So is the reality that Tata are moving the operation under Catnic? Whatever the answer it's a good result for you @Pete but too late for me.

I assume though you are actually referencing a local supplier/installer? I don't believe Rationel supply direct? I think this is an important distinction. A lot of the issues referenced seem to be regarding incorrect specification or poor fitting. It could be argued that the manufacturer themselves only crime is to allow a shoddy supply chain?

Depends if you're listening to Chorley FM

Buying online after drinking is never a good idea. Last year a mate of mine bought 10 (yes ten) 6ft talking Christmas trees after a pre Christmas trip to the pub. He had no recollection of buying them until DPD turned up Only when checking his emails did he accept they were for him!! However, that kit seems to look OK. Hard to tell the quality from a few pictures though. -
Good to see your making progress. My window installer finally finished our windows last Friday, in total it's taken them 2 months to install our windows. 5 sets of patios doors installed twice over. MBC was due to start the air tightness work (and a good chunk of other work left over from their last visit) on Monday (booked for a few weeks) and failed to turn up! Only when I chased saying "where are you?" did I get told they weren't coming due to problems on another job. I wasn't impressed!! They're now due to start Friday.

MBC timber frame and cedar cladding closing the gap

I can't help think that powder coated aluminium is going to scratch very easily as such a low level? At least uPVC is a bit more forgiving visually if scratched. -
I agree it is very thin and as you put it on ahead of the slating I was completely paranoid about it getting damaged. It also scratches if you so much as look at it the wrong way. However, from the ground it does look good and in theory will never really get touched.

Yes, I have one. It was an absolute godsend getting the velux windows on the roof. Also for getting the MHRV up. For Silverline it seems surprisingly robust. I'm going to mount mine in the workshop loft above the loft hatch once I'm sure I don't need it on the house anymore. (Not that I'm going to use the designated bat roost for storage. Honest ) Edit: I've used mine with this on the scaffold: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0140WLZJS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Edit 2: Here's the hoist itself: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-264782-Silverstorm-Electric-Capacity/dp/B002QRWHRO/ref=pd_bxgy_60_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=SG2YNH8HPPCPRGJSTPJN

Thats all very well until you realise that you need to give your gonads a scratch half way up, you're then left with the most impossible conundrum "leave the scratch un-itched or drop your load"
-
Well I'm no roofer but it looks the same as mine did! But I didn't bother with the fancy battens

Very tidy!

Don't forget that you'll need a decent power cable for the source equipment. Here's a mid range kettle lead for you: https://www.nottinghamhifi.co.uk/chord-sarum-super-array-power-chord-1-0m.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5dTer6Lc1QIV7Z3tCh3EaQaLEAkYBCABEgI7DfD_BwE

If it were me I'd just get on with it. Worse case is they'll force you to make a retrospective application.

I like the idea But I was thinking more: Rockwool slabs cut to 65mm wide and placed inside some of that temporary drainpipe plastic polythene?
-
It seems my local Jewsons can't supply cavity socks for a 50mm cavity Anybody got any good (cheap!) sources? Google doesn't bring back many results and I really cant abide the idea of phoning arround BM's. OR......have people rolled their own from rockwool slabs?

I'm pretty certain @TerryE has the same wall make up as me save for the fact he has a stone skin and I have block and render. In both instances they sit on the external brick/block footing: (Image Credit: MBC Timber Frame Ltd)
