  1. And make sure you see delivery notes of items delivered so you know that all the materials are indeed coming to your site.... and they stay on your site.....

    Like the mesh!
  3. Looks good, but it will need decent structure under the units to stop the units being destroyed by the spin cycle!
  4. I suppose that’s the building game - a game of risk. Maybe request weekly updates and base payments in arrears on the totals of these running totals/documents. Agree starting time on site, break times, lunch times, finishing times. no of staff on site. visit at different times of the day to see them working. Agree all equipment hire in advance and any associated fuel costs/ skip costs/ muck removal. if it’s day works ask him to buy materials and agree a mark up, as you don’t want the the source of delays on materials and he’s standing about on your coin. good luck
  5. It’s an indication of what’s out there on the market is all. you get 4 gallon too, you get lots of sizes.
  6. Lots of different people find different things expensive, very subjective
  7. That would be my choice too, high level cupboard with some sort of connection point outside so I could connect the garden hose to top up a large tank https://www.screwfix.com/p/polytank-cold-water-cube-tank-20gallon-uk-515-x-515-x-530mm/34521?tc=MC3&ds_kid=92700055281954502&ds_rl=1249404&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIycTH5uqg7wIVRemyCh1LiABZEAQYAiABEgIjK_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds header tank or coffin type tank with a ballcock to stop overfilling
  8. I know but the industry still trades on everything being MCS accredited equipment and installers bumping costs up. got my sunny boy inverter in storage and await panels for a diy install on my garage
  9. Did someone take the heads off and put them back in the wrong order?
  10. It will look like a bodge , you will regret it and the cill will be damaged fit them in the ceiling
  11. Good luck then,
  12. I think it’s best not to involve unnecessary regulatory bodies for anything like this...
  13. And let any qualified electrician do the install and stop rip off schemes like MCS
  14. Mitre any external angles, so the joining strip isn’t required. the deck board that you stand on , either finishes flush with the joist, or overshoots it by the thickness of a deck board, so when the deck board on the face is fixed it’s flush
  15. https://www.pluginsolar.co.uk/?product_cat=micro-inverters couple of inverters on gumtree at the moment in your area, in case you are looking. Not microinverter just the normal type
  16. Personally I think it helps, even it it covers the standby/ phantom loads of the house, it something. if every new install was required I have PV can’t be a bad thing
  17. I’ve buried spilt AC pipework, 2x100mm ducts just to make installation easy.. Ducts pop up externally above ground level and are sealed to prevent water ingress. 4 years and counting with no issues. AC installer had no problems carrying out the set up.
  18. Mine was open to our neighbours, so I sealed mine up as my neighbours were free spirits and more than likely they would set my house on fire by accident. double sheeted plasterboard and all gaps filled and taped then fire foam around the perimeter.
  19. I never even thought About external pipework !
  20. Offer them a deal, payment on receipt of certification.
  21. Wait and fit the foundation that is specific to your kit. what happens if they say they need intermediate foundation for a sleeper wall and you haven’t done it, just adds more unnecessary grief.
  22. I’ve never seen black waste pipe used before! we only ever use solvent weld and only ever seen it in white. is it common in England?
  23. Hard wall plaster? Personally I would fit skirtings the building was designed for them.
  24. They always go on about a call out charge if it’s your fault, must tell you ten times in each attempted engineer call out, never turn up when booked, tried to get a line moved to allow extension to carry on. in the end, I bought the jelly crimps, crimping tool and moved the cable myself, I gave myself a good discount? and did a better job than these clowns who also tell you they aren’t insured to go up lofts, under floors to run cables and just want to clip cables along skirting boards...
  25. It’s going off and the resin will set in the nozzle, I use hilti hit and you get a few nozzles, and then get a collection after a few jobs!. best bet is to drill them all out in one go, clean them all out and resin them all in one go, less wastage and more efficient
