  1. This should be your vertical adjustment (height) These should be your lateral adjustment (left / right) The top (remove cap) should be your compression adjustment (in/out) Edit: Worth noting, that you may have to release the small grub screw to adjust.
  2. Where do you live? For example near a busy road, airport? You need to consider the type of nouse, where the noise is travelling for example. It might be around the frame. It’s likely just PU foam which won’t block all the noise, compriband would have helped but to late now bug it could also be travelling up through the ground etc. Extra gasket isn’t going to do much tbh.
  3. If your still looking for an installer send me a message, happy to put you in touch with our guys.
  4. If it is external, it’s doing the job it’s supposed to.
  5. If between glass panes, glass unit has failed. Replacement glass unit required.
  6. Stick them on with double-sided tape, then take them off when BCO sign things off You do, rule changes from June. Unless alternative means of background ventilation exist. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1045918/ADF1.pdf 0.7 New extensions to historic and traditional dwellings should comply with all ventilation standards in this approved document unless there is a need to match the external appearance or character of the extension to that of the host building.
  7. Welcome to the forum. Different options exist, you have manual operation/electrical operation. Blinds within the glass unit, those in double/triple unit with a cavity for blinds and an inner pane of glass which can be opened to access them. This particular option I'm only aware of a couple of suppliers that offer this, however quite a few can offer the blinds within the glass unit. I'm not a massive fan of the blinds inside the glass unit, whether electrical or manual. I just had a client last year who spent £30K for his orangery to be replaced (we supplied the original windows for it, but a building problem required these to be replaced). We supplied new frames but not the glass this time, he wanted blinds (electrically operated). We advised him against it & low and behold 8 month later he was asking us to rip out all the glass units and supply new glass and as he originally had. They just kept failing and he was at the end of his tether with them. I'm not saying they are all like this but I personally avoid them.
  8. Fixed/openable or mixture of both? You can get 2.4m single pane no problem but if openable and supplier dependant. You could have 2 both openable or 1 fixed 1 openable or 3 with fixed middle, openable either side. You could go 4 if you wished. One thing to consider is whether your supplier can achieve this in one frame or if they need to couple different units together which does bulk up the frame. As @bassanclansays though, try follow the design of other unit sizes.
  9. For a replacement, all you need is a good quality PU foam, mastic externally and maybe some new trims.
  10. You may find this useful?
  11. They aren’t. ROMA will not deal with the UK directly, only via their distribution partners in mainland Europe. They however want us to deal with historical customers but will not support directly 🖕lol. Thankfully we have all the support we need.
  12. +1 We normally supply the standard slats, we try and give clients a choice but usually stick with the standards. You actually taught me a few extra bits and pieces that were available with the system as you had done your research and I have to say, I try and now use the CDL slats as standard and since my visit a fortnight ago, it has made my mind up. I reckon that the CDL slats are about 95% blackout, if not more 🤷‍♂️?
  13. Apologies but you're overcomplicating this, order a new door. The work involved in converting this will cost you probably the same to reorder, deliver and install the door. Secondly, it's unlikely the cylinder will fit properly in the door and it's a lot of hassle to solve a problem, which is easier to do by ordering a new door. Trust me, talking from experience. Bite the bullet and order new.
  14. The sellers talking out his arse. He needs to get his contractors back and get it sorted. The installers should have a bit of professional pride. Surely they never left it like this, if they did then they’re absolute cowboys.
  15. With our Austrian supplier, at a certain glass size it is automatically recommended. If it fails due to nickel sulphide inclusions. It’s tough luck, buy a new one. I’m at the stage now that heat soak on toughened, is standard on all sizes.
  16. It’s the spontaneous explosions of installed glass units that are fun 😉 Scares the shit out of everyone 😂😂😂
  17. Are they doing the install? What’s the site layout like? Won’t necessarily need craned in but they’ll be doing a risk assessment based install and need to submit RAMS etc. 9 out of 10 times a tele-handler and vacuum suckers are more than enough.
  18. Professional glass polisher. It will take a layer of the glass off and can cause a bit of distortion and can end up being worse that the scratch.
  19. You’re are correct, watching the game and typing not a good thing.
  20. DPM is for rising dampness and not for water proofing, As the window has an aluminium frame, DPM is not necessary as dampness cannot rise into aluminium. Simpler just to move on.
  21. For anyone that needs it, here is a quick excel calculator you can use to calculate glass weights for double / triple. Most I would assume won't know this and therefor use your unit size, it will give you the approx. overall unit weight if you use it that way (give or take a couple of KG). Some example data entered and I have purposely left out laminated as the difference is negligible imho. glass weight calculator.xlsx
  22. Tell him you hope he has good running shoes.
  23. Usually a DPC would already exist on properties, although older ones would need to be checked. Technically, not really required for Aluminium windows but you could call it good practice to install with DPC if it doesn't exist.
  24. Standard practice, certain size require the sliders to be built on site and fixed sections glazed, others built but not glazed. It’s generally a decision left to the suppliers and installers but likely that kit is being supplied with Nordan here. Not an issue tbh and there shouldn’t be a cost to kit unless is has been spec’d minimally and not designed with a greater than weight requirement. The actual difference in weight won’t be that much. Per m2 and per mm thickness glass will be 2.5Kg x 1, 2 or 3 sheets of glass (i.e single, double or triple). 4mm per m2 10Kg 6mm per m2 15Kg 8mm per m2 20Kg
