Progress! Topsoil stripped off most of the site today, and much of it good to reuse. Full plans have gone in to BC so as son as TF guy confirms our baseworks drawings, we're good to dig footings. In the meantime there's land drain to do and crushed rubble to lay.

Virgin are doing a big push at the mo. All of Ards, all of Comber. Carrowdore would be great but I dunno what they'd do about the last kilometre...

I bought a chineseum ebay special about fifteen years ago, still going strong. All the accessories are fit for purpose, and an extra extension shaft adds extra convenience.

if you want to go a little deeper on the insulation, the anhydrite and hemihydrate flowscreeds can go down to 50mm or less.

So watching the lorry negotiate the corner from lane to driveway last week made me pause. Then a chat with our nice new neighbour, and following that an hour's work tonight. Result? a few quid for posts and much more room to turn. Excellent.

just look at the 50mm as a built-in expansion vessel.

You've definitely got an insert fitted, yes?

it does mean that the control gear (switches etc) are more expensive and bigger for a given number of Amps than their AC equivalent.

So where are we now then? Selfbuild insurance arranged and in place. First delivery of materials arrived- twenty lengths of 160mm perforated twinwall, and a shiny new gate. The swing off the lane and into the drive is just a bit *too* tight so some fences will need massaging a touch. Any burnable scrub is torched. New gate is on. We're ready for the digger to be let loose next week!

@Dudda is in the RoI so the rules are a touch different, wiring can be a little more "continental"...

Another "what's the correct name" plumbing question

just spotted this, another header tank option maybe? https://www.bes.co.uk/safety-valve-solar-fluid-recovery-container -
just scanned through my TF quotes and 75% of them include external panels of fully treated timber.

Dave makes good points re. the loop impedance and I'd be querying of the DNO what their tolerances are if a mere 4kW is enough to push the supply ABOVE spec. Considering that both you and your neighbour will be on (eg) 80A fuses, so 18kW each... NIE for example quote 230v, but -6% and +10%.

go for the correct gain group rather than a wideband one.

the ASHP will have ambient temperature sensing for defrost control; how many people set it up for their own locality?
