we all know there are crap builders. Saw next door timber frame being plumbed with window packers under the soul plate. it was still not finished after we moved in. total waste of money for no reason. Lets see how all these cowboys get on with the new regs. No photo's of all the key build elements, geo tagged, to evidence good workmanship. No completion cert. Will be very interesting.

this is how im doing ours to climate the massive cold bridging issue, albeit with permiter upstand as well. Using marmox as the outer skin as they wont be seen (level threshold).

what sort of tiles are on the roof ? Probably quicker and cheaper to just add a bunch of tile vents both sides of the roof.

architraves fixed to door frame or wall?
Dave Jones replied to johnhenstock83's topic in Doors & Door Frames
liner of course. unlikely the wall will be dead flat to the liner which should have been fitted plumb and level so no gaps in the archi after its fixed. -
Costs to install 8.5kw Mitsubishi R32 ASHP
Dave Jones replied to Meabh's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
your being ripped off my 10k due to the MCS scheme, they are charging £5k more knowing you will not be paying it. Real cost for a heat pump and tank is £3k ish and 2-3 days labour to fit it. We in same boat and no way im paying a plumber £3k a day labour just because he has a gov approved piece of paper.
