Do you mind me asking how the 150m2 has been calculated. Is it gross internal area, gross external area or net internal area (excluding internal walls).

I negotiated a self build deal with the scaffolding boss where I had it for as long as I wanted for a fixed price and another fixed price for each alteration. IIRC I paid £2500 and had it for fourteen months and paid £100 for each alteration, but that was nine years ago.

Have you considered a sliding door which I guess could be fitted in either room given enough space.

Both of our airtightness tests resulted in 0.47ach and the tester spent half a day each time at a cost of £200 per morning.
-
Hi and welcome to the forum. I have found that the airtightness test results can be affected by how windy it is and the wind direction. The chap who did our airtightness test wanted to use the house door inside the front porch because it was unaffected by the wind.

We used Clearview Vista 80X on a glazed gable, I can't see why it wouldn't work on a roof light. We had it installed and I personally wouldn't like to try on a large vertical surface but may on a horizontal surface. Our bathroom roof window has G32 glazing which is good enough to keep out the heat. https://www.sun-x.co.uk/products/clearview-solar-film

It would be easier if we knew 70 what? Is it m3/h.m2 @ 50Pa or ach @ 50Pa, SAP uses the former and nearly everyone else uses the latter.

We had an initial test done before the house was finished to give us an idea of where any problems might be. It was very good but the tester wouldn't accept it as the final test because the house wasn't completed enough. You can always fix any problems and have another test done later.

Integrated Fridge Freezer fitting
Gone West replied to MikeGrahamT21's topic in Kitchen & Household Appliances
We had to put two shelf pieces on top of the base of the cupboard to bring the F/F up so the doors lined up correctly. There's no problem with putting packing timber on the base to bring it up to the correct level but it would need a cover piece at the front to hide the hole. -
Yes that doesn't look too bad at all, no flakes like on the outer side.
-
I'd drill a 3mm diameter hole to see how thick the steel is as it's difficult to know what the other side is like.

Brilliant ceiling.

We imported our Genvex Combi 185LS direct from Denmark when we were in the EU. It was a lot cheaper than buying from the UK dealer. The disadvantage is of course that if anything goes wrong it's much more difficult to sort out. I would have bought it from the UK dealer if it had been only a little more expensive, but over £3000 was too much to lose.

We had the same primed MDF skirting and architrave. I didn't re-prime the rear just touched up where necessary on the front. Glued to the wall using Heavy Duty Titebond Construction, didn't use any nails or pins.

servicing Genvex MVHR
Gone West replied to Rob Johnson's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
We have a Genvex Combi 185LS and we leave it running continuously all year. As Mike said the the fan motors have sealed bearings and there isn't anything to oil. On mine the only servicing needed on the MVHR side is changing the filters and checking whether the heat exchanger needs a clean. I also vacuum out the filter housing if needed. -
I remember our first fridge was a gas fridge and that was in the 50s. I guess if you had a fridge in the 30s you were quite well off, we weren't.

Two of the vertical lines of stain appear to line up with the reveals of the first floor window.

Help with hanging things please.

I dunno but I use them a lot and you can still get them from Screwfix. https://www.screwfix.com/c/screws-nails-fixings/plasterboard-fixings/cat840020?brand=gripit -
Sewage Treatment plant noisy

You want medium or heavy duty, depending on how well protected it will be, reinforced PVC hose. Whatever internal diameter your current hose is, something like this : https://www.acecompressors.com/product/heavy-duty-pvc-hose-20mm-3-4-id-26mm-od/ I would shop around, Screwfix unlikely. -

Yeah, that's tricky. 2" domestic push fit waste pipe is 54mm. 2" domestic solvent weld waste pipe is 56mm. -
Temporary clear polyethene windows, what grade/thickness?
Gone West replied to epsilonGreedy's topic in Windows & Glazing
The largest unsupported areas were 1.6m x 1.2m and the largest area was 2.4m x 2.0m but I put some temporary vertical battens in to reduce movement of the sheeting. The 4m high gable end I covered with a tarpaulin again with vertical battens. I stapled the sheeting to the OSB but I folded the edges twice before stapling and stapled around every 50mm. This was done in the spring so didn't have to stand up to winter weather. -

Gone West replied to epsilonGreedy's topic in Windows & Glazing
We had our TF completely boarded with the OSB3 racking because it was just before the winter. I worked inside over the winter using site lights. The following spring I routed out the openings and covered them with 1000ga clear plastic sheeting until the windows and doors were fitted which was over a few months. -

Our air pump housing is about 2m away from the treatment plant and is semi buried in concrete. I stood the air pump on rubber blocks and you have to be closer than 2m to hear anything.
