  1. I had Robinias at my last two houses and bearing in mind Robinias are not native and can suffer damage in cold wet winters how do you prove what killed it.
  2. Our BCO was happy with Nu-Lok and we didn't show him any documentation.
  3. Can you have a saturated solution of that stuff?
  4. I bought my first one only a few years ago and I wished I'd had earlier for some jobs. I bought an Erbauer because I wasn't sure how much use it would get but it's very good for the money.
  5. Very true. I spent around £7k on tools to build my house. I wonder how many people include that cost when calculating cost/m2.
  6. I would have thought more than £4500, as that is what we paid for an Internorn PH entrance door nine years ago.
  7. Many years ago a friend of mine made sliding wardrobe doors out of MDF and routed grooves in it to look like T&G.
  8. Sounds great. That's what I want, the three Ns, no near neighbours.
  9. Our site insurance didn't mention it so we didn't use it. We lived on site and are out in the sticks and it was a few years ago. Any deep holes we roped up so it was difficult to fall down.
  10. These came up on a Google search. https://www.window-openers.com/rv-2900-battery-window-opener/ https://www.window-openers.com/ks3040-electric-window-opener/
  11. Plenty of remote control window openers, to save having an accident.
  12. We've definitely got two hedgehogs although not all the time. Sometimes it's just a one night stand. Hog hump short.mp4
  13. Solvent weld waste pipe is 56mm. Pipe Sizes and Dimensions Chart.doc
  14. We use only Miele washing machines and dishwashers and have done for a very long time. Never had a problem and the ten year warranty is worth it.
  15. Hi, welcome to the forum. Have you checked for blocked filters?
  16. It's a good idea having a pergola to reduce solar gain. For our roof window glazing we have a G factor of 0.3 IIRC, which keeps solar gain very low.
  17. @Mr PC We designed our MVHR system ourselves and used a branched layout with plastic ducting. It was straightforward and has worked well. It doesn't require space for manifolds but does need space for straight runs of ducting so works well with metal web joists.
  18. Sometimes it just needs a little prod.
  19. Well done, it's looking good. It's a great feeling when you can finally move in.
  20. It depends on where you live. There's a big difference between Cornwall and The Shetland Isles.
  21. Look on your local council website construction or environmental health page. This is an example:- https://www.cheltenham.gov.uk/info/66/environmental_protection_and_pollution/910/construction_and_building_sites
  22. I've been looking for one of those for ages and all I can find is emojis.
  23. You could build a sparrow terrace with Buffalo Board, they aren't at all fussy.
  24. I guess that's goldfinches. We feed them niger seed and also sunflower hearts which they are keen on. We had a flock of eighteen one day in the winter.
  25. If the doors and windows are open all the time then there won't be a requirement for MVHR but there will be a requirement for a lot of space heating unless you like living in a low temperature house. As @JFDIY says air con is the best way of cooling the house down.
