  1. That wiring centre has been played with. And it’s not wired correctly for either S Plan or Y Plan as there are links in place going nowhere. For example, 6 doesn’t look right, and someone has hacked into the live feed somewhere where that red electrical tape is. I would find a new heating engineer or electrician and then ask them to rewire a new wiring centre correctly for S Plan.
  2. Week won’t harm it. And temperature will go up if you slow down the pump. It’s more likely that you have given the heat exchanger galleries a good clean, and everything is flowing a bit better. Worth seeing if you turn the boiler down if it drops off, also worth checking the stat is properly in its pocket.
  3. Videx for me, then BPT. Never heard of Telguard...! And I would watch for anything that is GSM based as a lot will only work on 3G SIM cards and they can be difficult to get hold of. Have you not already got wiring in place ..?
  4. Yep I would expect that as the flow is going through the bottom of the rad purely by convection. No swept tees ..? Glad it’s all sorted - as @Nickfromwales said , that header tee was probably full of crud. Will be worth pulling the Intakleen after a week to see what it’s caught.
  5. As @Mr Punter said, once you start it’s locked in. I have a commercial build started in 2010, finished phase 1 in 2011 and it’s still pending funding for phase 2 but planning is still live.
  6. @epsilonGreedy this is a bargain at the moment if you have a trade card, even at £99 it’s good value. https://www.wickes.co.uk/Youngman-Timberline-Loft-Ladder-Access-Kit/p/183453
  7. Threads in the nuts look different. As @MJNewton said, junior hacksaw and 2 mins and they will be off
  8. Is that a Tiger sheds one ..?
  9. So I can tell you that internal set up is not 11 years old as those pumps (Wilo not Lowara) haven’t been out for that long. I would say 2 years max. I can see the pipes from the solar thermal on the roof in the back corner - can you see where they connect to the tank ..? And I can’t see any controller for that ..? Looks like someone has tried to add an additional pump to the system but without being able to see it all laid out, not sure what they have tried to achieve ..! The grey foam insulation is new, the rest is just in the way !!
  10. Sounds like the old Ideal setup - do you have radiators or just UFH..? The cylinder could actually be a combined unvented cylinder and buffer - especially if you have the Ideal solar thermal too. Got any photos or model numbers off the cylinder ..??
  11. I use the Flomasta one as it’s all the same. Don’t forget the F1 and X100 treat the same amount - just different concentrations.
  12. I think you will find just sharp sand will move. I would be doing a semi dry mix of sand and cement to lay the slabs onto.
  13. Don’t forget the S’Fix one is a 500ml container so you can add it afterwards using the intakleen and only when you’ve finished messing about with rads / valves / leaks etc. I would wait until you’ve got everything running as planned before adding it.
  14. I buy the S’Fix own brand stuff and use 2-3 bottles.
  15. No issue with HRC and manifolds - just return the hot return back to the top of the UVC as per the return port.
  16. Cleared it out yet ..? Still mucky water ..?
  17. 1. no - they seal as they are usually under another board/batten 2. find the studs, or the battens in the service void.
  18. well... you will have a good reason to replace all the copper pipes .... most of the brass... the boiler ......
  19. That will be hilarious ..!! Washing machine will foam everywhere ... 1kg of citric in 3 litres of hot water will so something ...
  20. Won’t do it any harm but you’ll need to just flush it after a while - may be just leaving it and sticking a decent amount of inhibitor in, the magnaclean will do its job.
  21. That could be due to pressure from the PFM as they can be pretty fierce. Are all the rad valves fully open ..? Have you stuck any sort of cleaner into the system ..? Leave it running in one direction for a good 5 mins and go round and give each of the rads a bit of a tap with a rubber mallet. Will loosen the crud.
  22. You mean the TS is vented ..? Not the cold supply to the hot water itself ..?? A TS cannot have legionella within it - either the coil or the flat plate heat exchanger type. Mains cold water contains enough chlorine to kill of legionella and there is no “stored” hot water in the system, it is a sealed system from supply to tap.
  23. Need to understand the inverts and also where the main run is as your sewage provider may not allow you to connect to an existing lateral drain.
  24. Everything open and keep an eye on the level in the header or the expansion. What are you connecting the PFM to..??
  25. If that is the case then change the programme and put the DHW on earlier / later than the heating ..?
