In my experience most “builders” when they appear to be ripping you off or lieing do respond to being stood upto . I use the exact language that I can’t use with a tenant who is confrontational. It’s very therapeutic to release all that frustration and anger . You also effectively drawing a line in the sand . Then it becomes shut up or put up . I know confronting people and potentially the risk of that becoming physical isn’t appealing , no one wants that . But it’s YOUR build , YOUR money - take control ; whether you are wrong or right . Alter the course of the builds destiny relies solely on you making it happen . ??

One thing i’ve Noticed when I screw these guys together sometimes you can’t get them lined up I.e you can’t tighten it any further so have to loosen it to get alignment. I presume some plumbers tape on the thread beforehand is the answer ? Equally the brass end cap has no rubber washer or anything. Tape again ???

Actually looking at @Onoff 's photo. Doesn't the toilet get soaked when someone showers??? Whats the distance @Onoff from the corner to the toilet?

Yeah I wanted the loo on the wall because a) It's an external wall ; so better noise wise b) There's a false stud wall there to hide mvhr pipework etc. so made sense to use that space for a wc cistern. That part of the build has passed the "Project item commit" stage!

Do they have to run vertical? Can they twist and turn to get to the roof vent ?

Ah right ! That’s why I don’t see great dirty pipes everywhere. So does the vent have to be as ‘high’ as possible up the roof ? . I guess i’m Asking what’s the min height from presumably the ‘nearest’ toilet ???

Every house i’ve Lived in had one of these ; not particularly pretty . On large building sites I don’t see any . I assume it’s a requirement so how do they do a ‘hidden’ stench pipe ???
