  1. Ask them here I guess: https://www.dwyer-inst.com/Contact-Us/ContactUs.cfm?Location=UK
  2. Speaking with my chippy mate last night. His preferred method is to spread the wall and butter the tile then lay with no or little regard for gaps. He then puts a level on them and tamps the tiled area "flat". Only then does he ease apart and fit spacers. Seems like a plan I might try.
  3. How about this RF one? They've a UK distributor: https://www.dwyer-inst.com/Product/AirQuality/Humidity-TemperatureTransmitters/SeriesWHP
  4. Short of winning the Lotto and being able to give up work to do the house without compromise then yes I'm going to live with it. I've more projects here than years left on this Earth tbh.
  5. With the level resting on the studs, 400mm wide tiles, brown, 5mm packs: Roughly where the top of the pan will sit, its about 3.5mm each side:
  6. Takes a deep breath... In the back box on the wall you have two grey cables. One grey cable appears to be twin and earth containing red, black and an earth that has been over sleeved with green/yellow. I can't really see the other cable properly other than it's grey. Is it in fact twin and earth where the black has been cut back? I assume the other earth sharing the sleeving is coming from that cable? The switch pattern is likely L1, L2 and Com - marked on the black rear where the terminals are. This is one of the most common switch patterns there is, it's a one gang 2-way switch.
  7. If I prime the walls but don't get round to tiling and the primer dries, do I then have to prime again so as to tile whilst it's tacky? Cheers
  8. I have to admit that if I get a catalogue now I rarely read from cover to cover. These Quinetic modules that fit an MK grid caught my eye: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/QUGDMK.html? No idea how long they've been available! Can't be long before Quinetic offer these as a dimmer, in black etc. Gives some more traditional looking options with brass, stainless plates.
  9. I'm falling down at every turn on this wall tiling. Just inexperienced I suppose. Ideally I'd take them off and start afresh with what I now know. That won't be happening.
  10. Is that red "on it's own" a cut back twin and earth or a single? Is this the only switch that controls that light?
  11. If you want to see an incompetent, amateur tiling job... ...come round my house, I'm in the midst of doing one at the moment! "Lippage", knew I had lots of it, didn't know what it was called.
  12. Good shout, I can bolt on "loose". Will post pics later.
  13. @Nickfromwales, ref the cardinal sin, the centreline of the wc is in effect a high point as above due to idiot boy here not thinking to tamp the tiles level horizontally. Reckon the back of the pan will be 2-3mm shy of the tiles either side. Salvageable? Cheers
  14. How do you know? She might have very low standards whilst appreciating a bloke who takes his time!
  15. From a distance maybe. Run your hand over some of the joints and they're a bit uneven. Yeah I've got Jennifer Aniston lined up to test the shower which I'll live stream!
  16. Going to have to try and "flatten" the next two rows that have the flush plate in the centre or when I get to pocket above the wc putting the trim on straight will be a right pain!
  17. Seriously 1200 tonnes? 120 seems immense!
  18. I think @Construction Channel ended up underpinning as his footings were shallow. Probably a video.
  19. You must be having a laugh? I had to pretty much beg for tea...twice! Got a sinking feeling this not having the tiles behind the wall hung wc perfectly flush is a big nono... @Nickfromwales?
  20. 5kg of adhesive and 5 tiles laid! Did the hose outlet tile. Wrapped the 1/2" BSP brass bit in sticky side out tape pre tiling: The four tiles around the wc hit a bump in the road and ended with a right faux pas! Duct tape, sticky side out around the blanks: Looks OK here: After re cutting the bottom left tile that snapped as I pushed it home: However, the left hand end must be 5mm low! Load the pan with Sikaflex before I put it on to take up any gap? Cheers
  21. Have you a pic of the wiring inside the switch or switches that control this light?
  22. Leccy tape, sticky side out is my fave at the moment.
  23. Happy with the nom 5m clearance around the (yellow) blanks: Obviously these have to stay in place whilst I tile but how do I stop the adhesive, which is inevitably going to squidge round the blanks, from sticking to them and making it a bitch to remove them? Silicon spray? Cheers
  24. Oh I bet that hurts, having to break into the "Emergency Annual Heating £5". Thought it would stay in it's glass case forever! Thinking further on this, trade Wendy in for @newhome and you'd get at least another couple of months grace on the heating!
  25. Because of mitral valve reurgitation issues my father's blood doesn't pump/oxygenate the way it should. Standing up for too long he gets massively swollen lower legs (he's skinnier than a rake btw). He can't either lie dead flat due to pulmonary hypertension. If he moves suddenly then, bends too low, reaches too high he can get dizzy and fall. This latest break is from him simply sitting up in bed too fast and in effect fainting. Having the sockets higher and switched lower would mean he has to bend less, struggle less etc. I'm a huge fan of the Part M heights btw.
