  1. Actually enjoyed tiling tonight which is a first! Bought myself a set of digital, Salter kitchen scales for £15 to exactly measure the adhesive. Much more consistent.
  2. We both post, me a few seconds after you and start with "Indeed". I hadn't read your post. That's spooky!
  3. Indeed! Smacks of possibly something more than the second guy was letting on.
  4. "Moisture resistant!"

Usually a reason why things like that a cheap. Insurance assessor etc had picked up it needs £5K worth of "new chains" or something + fitting. I once saw a TS18 Spider sold to the scrappy for a few hundred quid!
  7. Oi, @newhome, get on the case & sniff out where to get these! https://www.enocean.com/en/enocean-modules/details/hsm-100/
  8. Struggling to find where to purchase the HSM-100.
  9. Best advice I can give is get some other idiot to lift "it"!
  10. Big fan of the ginger one!
  11. Ah yes, I remember the the tramadol / naproxen combo, bliss! Had my disc go twice over the years. I remember longing for a picture rail to hang onto when I was crawling round the walls. Walking, walking and more walking keeps the issue at bay pretty much by I guess tightening the old internal "corset" muscles.
  12. That light fitting is unlikely to be anything other than: x2 Earth (cpc) x2 Neutral x1 SWITCHED live (line) That single red & earth is sold as a "switch wire" for two way switching etc. Can you see if that single red is coming out at the ceiling? Guessing there is a 2nd light switch somewhere, maybe boarded over or God forbid plastered in. Whatever, I'd just connect the new light to the connector block and be done with it.
  13. Yep I know. Probably be done well before but might hold off using until he's back. Once the bathrooms done then I need to think about clearing & breaking the concrete floor up in the adjacent room where the stairs are. Then digging down a foot or so like I did the bathroom (that was actually deeper) fitting a manifold under the stairs and ducts for UFH in the floor for when I do all the adjacent rooms. At the mo there's no UFH in the bathroom, the towel rad also will be on the wall but not connected as that'll come off the eventual manifold too.
  14. I get to use the wc first! Hopefully shower will be up and running for when my lad is back from uni.
  15. I'd have asked for a discount from her there and then based on the implication that without GD in the frame she clearly wasn't fussed about the design being right!
  16. I'm guessing load the "gap" with CT1, nut it up, baby wipe and let set. Really load it, as in cover the area of porcelain at the back of the pan rather than just a thick bead around the edge? Then finish off with a replaceable as and when, quality white silicon? Cheers
  17. You and your altruistic streak, moonlighting as a make up artist & foc too. Well done you!
  18. Was that you over the back?
  19. We are talking about tiling aren't we?
  20. It already has above where I've tiled so that's why I'm asking. Primed more wall than I ended up tiling. Do I put another coat of primer on before tiling the already primed and DRY bit?
  21. Bump, anyone? Cheers
  22. This is where I get my ducting. This guide of theirs may be of interest: https://www.drainagepipe.co.uk/guides-and-tips/ducting/guides-and-reviews/top-tips-for-using-underground-ducting/ Should just add that some DNOs insist on red rather than black duct for "electricity", in Scotland in particular I believe.
  23. Run in separate ducts I would.

    Generator

Got a generic 2.3KW jobbie from Makro years ago. First time I ran it it was lumpy and the output was all over the place. Thought I must investigate why. Only bought it as we were having loads of power cuts. Then the power cuts stopped and I forgot all about it. Of late the power cuts have started to be a bit more frequent so I dug it out and figured I'd best sort the lumpy running. Capacitor duff. Must have been like it from new. Need a another capacitor now for the DeWalt radial arm saw as I thieved that one!
