My little sample piece. The left hand half has a coat of tile primer: A couple of bits of tile stuck on with CT1 Power Grab & Bond & left to dry.

They got a good write up a while back Some good and bad comments here: http://practically-classics.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5538 & https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=8348 & https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=226&t=51900 -

Not sure. Have a read: https://www.mech-mate.co.uk I like the idea of built in lights, shelves etc. I've a mad plan to build one into my existing garage using a suitably braced, scrap pallet timber former, with all the electrical conduits, vent & drainage ducts and ladder brackets getting cast into the pit walls. If you do diy then worth casting a little sump area one end for a pump to sit should the need arise. -
Why not? When for whatever reason a tiling job takes longer than expected. I've tried Googling it, nothing. I was just interested in whether the proven action of potassium bitartrate in delaying plaster setting times would apply to tile adhesive.
-
This just to upset the purists on a Sunday morning... I'm NOT going to do it. I have NO need to do it but... Had a mad thought as I do. Can you add Cream of Tartare to tile adhesive to extend the set like with plaster?

Experimenting tomorrow whether this CT1 Power Grab & Bond sticks to the tanking. Can't see tbh why I can't stick the tiles straight to the marine ply on the sides and relax. @Nickfromwales, what's the trick with filling the bath full to simulate a person plus water when you tile? Presuming I tile the deck and sides then set the bath lip down on a thick bed of something? Cheers.

@zoothorn is at 58 pages so at first glance in in the lead. However.....to these 50 pages we should really add the 79 from my boxing in thread!

Whacked the first full coat of tanking over the bath deck!

I had a safety recall the other day...sure it was ref volt pens...should have read it! Dangerous bloody things. Wield the tip around a flex and you might find it stops and starts.

Deep pockets? Wiska OneGel http://m.builderdepot.co.uk/wiska-one-gel-cartridge-300ml.html?

I've had a bag of Roysters T Bone Steak crisps if that counts? Tbh I'm pretty happy with veggie stuff but I "need" steak as in red meat (beef, kangaroo etc) every so often or I get "weird". Must satisfy some throwback dietary requirement.

More faffing than tiling! I've had bowl of vegetable & turmeric soup and a bottle of British Bulldog and that's it. Might dip into the crate of mixed Greene King IPA. Last night it was Spirit Of Kent 9 Hop XXX Pale Ale from Westerham Brewery.

Dancing from one thing to another here... Used CT1 Power Grab & Bond direct to the marine ply, no primer of any sort, this for the removable side panel. Figured easily replaceable if it does blow: This'll have another bit of tile stuck on below. There'll be a couple of super clean, diamond core drilled holes to affix it with st/st screws I WANT the top of the deck tanked. Realised I've run out of actual Aquaseal primer so as per the back of the can mixed up SBR 4:1 instead albeit Cementone brand rather than Everbuild like it says. I've used this mix on the top deck but not the sides: As I might stick the side tiles on with CT1 Power Grab & Bond I've done a little sample board to which I'll stick tiles to:

Back to the trim. Cutting at 67.5deg gives me this: Which is fine. Losing the post from the trim: Still doesn't look right: Playing with it: Because of the way the sides rake in: Hmm.....

How many more miscalculations? I decided on an access panel, one tile wide to be able to get at the trap. Well, at least to change it by feel and with the assistance of a second person should the need ever arise. It was tight anyway with my gorilla forearms, compromised further now by the bundle of 20mm flexible conduits for the plinth lights. BUT...just realised that the access panel assumed one tile, central to panel. Now the run on the side of the bath will be "out" to those on the wall. Unless...
-
It's a f**king nightmare. 67.5deg ffs! Luckily I've got a whole bunch of scrap trim leftover to practice on from when I re-did the pockets.

I posted that after a beer...in the cold light of day with a slight hangover / start of man flu it doesn't seem such a sensible boast! Pretty sure the picture framing guillotine is going to be invaluable for this detail. Other than that it's the Evolution Rage chop saw (non starter) or little plastic mitre blocks to cut this trim. Posted these before but it cuts real clean imo.

You mean MULTIPLE bits... Never!

This cries out for a 3D printer.....matching the white though.....

The whole hot air gun / slit the back / bend it round something thing had crossed my mind. John the Chippy might be down this weekend so he might have an idea.

Not that I'm aware...probably just regretting ever encouraging me! (More likely busy).

Look again. 135deg included angle not 90. (I've got 90's)
