  1. Don't edit the original post, it will cause confusion ..just add a new post, makes it easier for others to follow the flow ???
  2. What are you trying to achieve? What state are the floor joists? Is there a vented underfloor? You mentioned UFH ...is it to insulate the floor?
  3. Looks smashing @Onoff...maybe a bit of spare plasterboard behind those holes in the ceiling might help then another coat...that's how I'd go
  4. What a good looking build. Builders have a rough Highland look too, beardy and relaxed...can't wait to see the next floor/ truss go in
  5. If it's the same as Scotland you need the assessor to move from rates to council tax register. Up here there is a form for that you complete online. However the assessor can take a long time to process this (we have been told up to two years) meanwhile you have to pay because the Council have a duty to collect the revenue and can't do nowt until the independent assessor makes a decision to change use. Use the assessor complaints process maybe..?
  6. Go @Onoff...it's his house you know. Anyway, we all enjoy the banter and photos will never show the real result. Some say good farrow and ball paint hides everything once you've dimplied it with artex
  7. I think you should build a model...put way the mouse and get out the foam board and glue. Next some Sharpies and a strong torch to mimic the sun... everyone will love it because not everyone can see in 3D? For a project this big it's worth a weekend with the craft knife
  8. Ah... Specsavers for me
  9. Easy, take out two giraffes to make room?
  10. Right, I can't see a single join in those joists...how come?
  11. Yeah but... How do you get an elephant in a fridge?
  12. Can you keep your spare odd size screws on it?
  13. Yup, nice to hear that news. Decking is easy and it will finish off that elevation so much...get it done before the world cup!
  14. Right, it's off on its way to BC...100% DIY including making the block plan from the assessors website and drawing a red box in Paint!
  15. 3. EPDM TO EPDM. Splice tape good. Contact adhesive also good with a 3" overlap and nice tidy (no ripples) contact. In this weather it should be fine, the rubber is soft and malleable. Take your time and press it all tight together. Roller is good but ONLY on a flat surface, otherwise you'll stress the rubber at high points. Go poster!
  16. Pop along to Screwfix and take it with you...they should let you have a go before buying a box of 5000 After all you could take the packet outside, give it a go and if no good get a full refund...next size, rinse and repeat ???
  17. Okay, no laughing I've made my own drawings for BC for this knock a wall that's doing (expletive deleted) all (much) anyway down. Will these helpful public servants tell me where to go...or is this enough alongside the engineers report which has all the load bearing numbers etc...
  18. Whoo hoo Time to get the tile cutter out?
  19. I think you're going to need lead (or other flexible) flashing to be able to cope with the bendy bits...that solid stuff won't do for that wall.
  20. Hey Ali It's looking fantastic and quality takes time? Hope it keeps working out?
  21. And you thought you'd be in by Christmas ????
  22. 3" bolt cutters and a friend ?
