Deflection can also increase if they are not fitted tightly against both ends, for example a tightly fitted joist has little space to deflect into, whereas a joist with a 10mm gap both ends has a large amount of room to deflect into. Hope that makes sense.

Thank god for that. Sweaty socks can keep that. -
@ProDave mentioned in another topic about circulation spaces in his kitchen, this is now giving me extra things to worry about i had thought the only thing I needed to comply with was a wc large enough for wheelchair users. Can anybody shed some more light on this subject. Cheers.

You have made such a nice job of the rest of it I will let you off just this once. -
This question has been asked a lot regarding services and slabs. I wonder if we could get a list of all the things to go in before the concrete is poured, and keep it somewhere on the site as a reference guide. @AnonymousBosch because I know your not that busy really.

On a different note, @LA3222 how about giving people some details of your timber extension on your mobile home i have mentioned this a few times to people living on site and I got the feeling they all thought it was to much trouble, but looking at yours I reckon it will make life in there a 100times better.

Thanks @Bitpipe that has answered loads of questions for me, I have been fretting about this for a while, the trouble with talking to reps at shows is you just feel they all want to flog you something. Thankyou all, put my mind at rest, I can carry on worrying about my French holiday on 3rd April again. ??

I’m thinking I will need a couple of floor mounted sockets in the front room, has anybody got good ideas for the actual face plate as well as the type of back box that was installed, these will be going in a screeded floor. Would idealy like sockets that have USB ports on them if they exist. Cheers.

I’m getting to the point when I need to start looking at all the stuff to go inside the house, yes I know I should have done this a year ago. Anyway let’s talk mvhr so I fully understand that standard extraction systems are going to take the warm air out of the house and waste it by blowing it outside and I understand the principle of using the warm air to heat the incoming fresh air. What i I am having problems with is getting a grip on how to get a good system to work with our lifestyle we don’t want to live in a sealed up Tupperware box, I have read so many comments on how quite there new house is and I fully agree now our windows are in its silent in side, so I know what that means come May- June the kitchen window will be open and also the back door, the door will be open to let the dogs run in and out and the windows will be open so the wife can hear the birds as she bakes a cake in the kitchen. So how do we make this situation work, i want. Good extraction from wet rooms good extraction from laundry room good extraction from kitchen extractor. Is there a system that will sit in very very low mode and boost up when you enter the bathroom, or a boost switch in the laundry for when the back door is shut. Do you think Hinks mvhr is right for us or do we look at alternatives, confused as usual i much prefer just digging holes.

Cheapest decent power Mitre saw?
Russell griffiths replied to Delicatedave's topic in General Joinery
I would look at second hand. I sold an ELU sliding mitre saw for £50, the bloke text ted me a week later to say thank you as he hadn’t realised at the time how good it was, I was just glad it wasn’t cluttering up the garage anymore. -
Go and hire a positive placement nailer. I nailed in a couple of thousand nails in two days. Best £60 ever.

You could use it no different to any other house interior before final screed goes on just be aware of what you are loading onto it and keep well under its load capacity. -
Seen the price of it. ?
