There was 25 mil under Hardly a thing really
-
I did exactly that on a previous home It was a modern build with the slab being reinforced so would have been expensive the hack up BC did insist that I Kingspan the rafters Then fix 18 layer multi foil Then counter baton Then 100 mil insulated PB to the ceiling Most of which I’d of done anyway
-
This is the second time I’ve taken the filter out It says on there website that the filter needs replacing after three years It stoped working after 12 months Bung up with limescale Less than 12 months on while it’s not as bad as last time It’s still pretty grotty
-
I would start again Personally I think the amount of hassle and problems that using Existing may cause further down the line Won’t be worth the short term saving
-
I built a series of descending circular ceilings at a synagogue The lighting was meant to resemble the constellation With each resembling a star They cost a small fortune The electrician was so clever with the placement and type of lights I think I will be a bit more imaginative with lighting on the next one Rather than lots of down lighters

While there is nothing to stop them doing this With current planning laws All the objections will only delay the inevitable
-
I know exactly what you mean You will have to include a tray and vapor barrier also
-
You could do exactly that You will have to decrease your cavity in that section
-

Building Control and MCS sign-off for a DIY PV installation
nod replied to andymb's topic in Photovoltaics (PV)
You will probably find that BC are only interested in your slate certificate It will never come up who has done what If you need a certificate for the PV I’m sure there is someone online that will sell you one -
If you are doing them yourself an edging strip may be a good option Though-a strip is rarely used on commercial As they are prone to damage I normally tile the up stands and use a gauge to square the step then tile the top of the steps You will need a tile with a fully glazed edge
-
If no one has noticed it by now I would do nothing
-
This is quite common when your within a 1000 of a boundary Your Architecht should have picked this up You will have to double up on your cement board Two layers of 12.5 Staggering Horizontal and vertical joints Or add a fire curtain Which will cost more

You have three choices Pay for the PCC Or the buyer pays Or find another buyer I would think the vast majority of lenders will accept what you already have -

Tile backer boards - help me choose
nod replied to Snowbeetle's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
No problem They are also better to tile on With no need to seal prior to tiling -

We’ve stop using Hardy backer We use the yellow gypsum Out performs most Much lighter and cheaper and can be cut with a Stanley knife or hand saw Can be D&D But needs a knocking fixing also -
Normally just go round and kick each clip You will have to tap it down Then grout over it
-
It looks a nice job Its normal to get a kick on top of the flashings especially with tiles Slates are easier to keep flat
-
No that’s not enough We normally use 70 between the rafter 30 mil air gap at the top and a minimum of 38 mil insulated backed plasterboard or 48 mil PB Check with building control
