  5. I’d be very wary of land without planning Unless you intend playing the long game It’s now so cheap and easy to get an informed opinion as to weather a field is a potential plot

  8. After nine months of waiting I’ve been told my new Tipper trailer has arrived The dealer has explained that shortages have been caused by people putting there old trailers online at inflated prices Which has had a knock on effect He did also say I could turn a £1500 profit without taking delivery Something will eventually have to give

  17. It just reminds me of the push from petrol cars to getting us all to drive diesel At the time diesel was cheaper at the pumps Once we swapped over The tax on diesel went up to cover the lost revenue Tge same will happen with electricity
  18. As we move away from fossil fuels Electricity prices will soar If only to make up the revenue lost from the gas industry
  19. There is no direct line to our planners also They are charging a £150 to answer each question via email
  20. We are considering heating options for our next build Unfortunately no gas a available We have been in our current self build for just over two years now Traditional built Though well insulated 285m2 over two floor 5 bed Has boiler UFH to the ground floor Over the six winter months the heating has cost almost £70 per months My wife has done a comparison for the same period in our previous home Built in 2003 4 bed just over half the size of our present home £95 per month The and a half years ago Updating the insulation really is money well spent Also our counsul tax has gone up two bands But due to the treatment plant our water rates have nearly offset the difference When we started our build We had absolutely no idea how much it would cost to run a large house We had heard stories about how UFH could be expensive to run UFH is definitely on our tick list for the next two builds
  21. Bifolds look great But in reality they are not that practical We are going to have two pairs of sliders in our next build
  22. There all made to order But 4.2 is a good size It would give you four doors Most recommend keeping the glass under 1000 From memory our glass was about 910
  23. It would be a big ask for Five in five years My understanding is there no minimum time you need to live in a property Only that it is your main residence ie register and pay utilities and CT To do this he would have to fund at least the first build out of his own pocket and hope prices carry on rising
