  1. I’m not sure why you would want to convert But don’t suppose it would matter
  2. Not really Our previous build 5 years earlier was about 10% less
  3. That’s worrying Will need knocking off and the brickwork spraying with a salt inhibitor
  4. The we faced as apposed to previously Pur planner no longer answer there phones Covid of course If you want to ask a question via email it’s £200 per question The Architect had a hotline Just as well as we went back and forth with planners for months
  5. That’s for the submission The Architecht had done all the drawings and achieved full planning permission £2800
  6. You will offset some of the cost of render by not having to pay for face brick
  7. We must be lucky 500 for se the first time £850 +1000 for building regs submission
  8. It tends to be mainly commercial builds No need on a private home
  9. Membrane on your BB taped to your dpc Then insulation Foil both sides Joints taped Then another membrane Then pipes
  10. Partially and leave an expansion gap around the edges If you put the units on top of the floor it won’t be able to move
  11. Most of our commercial jobs won’t allow us to use anything other than bg metal It is heavier duty A good saving on MF is not to use deep Chanel If there are no deflection heads There’s no need I never use deep Chanel on houses
  12. You can use res bar But you still need an mf frame We normally use top hat then two x 15 mil sound boards
  13. 500 x 250 are ok cut in half But you can’t always get around using slate and a half Weve just used 250 Mostly on valleys Not too bad considering we’ve used over 5000 600x300 slates
  14. I get most of my boards and framing from SIG They will beat most companies hands down
  15. They are nothing to do with Gypsum It will be a lighter grade than Gypsum But do the same job Most of the other companies use similar codes to Gypsum and undercut by about 20% Get your order in Great saving There out there Just need to shop around 👏
  16. If it’s one piece (tarp) That’s probably why you have condensation issues Probably needs redoing
  17. We’ve built and will sell on as soon as our next one is complete We’ve added lots of extra insulation good airtightness Steels instead of lintels A nice bid expensive German kitchen and appliances Im pretty sure that none of the potential buyers will ask or care about levels of insulation and airtightness Or Sap rating Most will prioritize Location Size of house and garden and kitchens and bathrooms We all care But your average buyer won’t
  18. You could be looking at 200k Depending on finish
  19. It was a good program We we’re building our first one while it was on But still spent 200k 815m2
  20. As I stated earlier BC will follow the rules and insist on at least one Personally As a render contractor I’d put two in regardless of block work arrangements Simply to protect the render Two stop beads back to back will be barely visible
  21. I phone call to BC would be your best option
  22. No who told you that Foundations are designed to suit the ground
  23. I don’t think it really matters what any of us think You will have a hard time getting this past BC If you are using sand and cement Painted I presume You can put two stock beads back to back I would void any guarantee on a long stretch of render without joints Especially Sand and cement which is more prone to cracking
