I do protected fire escapes as part of my business You would be fine doing that But there’s quite a bite of work involved creating a box that will give you 90 minutes fire protection

We put 63 sheets of insulation down yesterday at £43 per + per sheet I tried everywhere to get it cheaper Even the online seconds where more expensive once you added delivery I settled for a local insulation supplier where I already have an account When we did our previous build 6 years ago There was a fire at the factory in Germany tgat makes the stuff and it doubled overnight It never came back down

I’ve noticed a lot of water around one of the Atlas boxes Time to dig up and have a look Has to be one The most crappiest jobs I’ve done nightmare to get the pipe ends out I’d missed putting a 50p stiffener in one of the pipe ends

It is normal I pointed this out and was told I hadn’t supplied all the information that they hadn’t asked for till I mentioned the eight weeks -
Extension Breached Boundary

The simpler option would be to speak to your neighbor and offer some cash It’s a big job to move everything and your neighbor probably doesn’t want the disruption either -
Manufacturers tend to do this with instructions in case a five year old is reading them Base prep will be the same as your builders always do Full bed of mortar and don’t hit the to hard is common sense SBR slurry should be painted on to the back of anything that’s laid on to mortar Sealing them is very important They should be dry and clean Perhaps worth doing this yourself a day or two before Fill a bucket and wipe both side with a sponge 🧽 Let them dry then repeat Limestone will bleed through if not sealed correctly We have a flat tray that we part fill and lie the slab or tile in for a few seconds

Yes it’s curled behind the up stand In any case it’s all below dpc There will be an apron of dpc around the perimeter taped to the high load damp course Then two more membranes No chance of anything coming through
-
Nothing above the upstands Last time I just ran the tile matting over them and tiled on top

Just thought I’d post this as it crops up as a question regularly I knocked the block work out around the five openings today
-
I think it’s the other way round Plaster holding the arcs off Or have I misread
-
Another option is to cut your arcs to size and pencil line round them Trim the excess back This works up to 5 mil But any more than that you would be better following Tony’s advise and put a deeper lining in

A locally company came out to quote for a HP 12 kw Mitsubishi and cylinder 12k Less the 5 k grant I wonder what they would charge if there was no grant My mate who is an heating engineer reckons if he installed it with me there would be a lot of change out of the 7k and warranty implications also Any thoughts
