Adding radiators without hiding pipework
Nickfromwales replied to Tennentslager's topic in Other Heating Systems
Just run above the skirting and use Talon clips. They have lugs on the side to hold Talon trunking ( 10 / 15 / 22mm ) and just cut mitres. Tbh I'd just surface mount 15mm pipework and paint them, acceptable in most homes so ok for an office . Go to a few local plumbers merchants and ask for damages return radiators. I just bought 4 med /large radiators for £45. Tiny scratches / dents on side panels, hardly noticeable when fitted. ? -
No more Speckled Hen for you tonight.

One Bond film too many ? ?

How to add pump overrun delay?
Nickfromwales replied to richi's topic in Central Heating (Radiators)
Neat little unit. How much was it ? -
It's not how much you earn, it's what you want ( or don't want ) to spend it on.
-
It's a digression, but I think your logic is arse over tit with that statement. If someone lights a fire now and then youd still rather a lifetime of high and higher fuel bills Not me . I'd go passive in the wink of an eye. Then all the money your used to throwing at the energy companies can be thrown to your mortgage instead. It's a no-brained afaic. I hate the house we're in, as I'm paying to keep it warm and like @Onoff I can literally hear the meters going round whilst I continue to pump heat in to offset its draughty inefficient ways, but capital expenditure puts any sensible anti-measures in place. .

Retired Feminist Roofer: too delicious

That should have got a round of applause. ? -
@JSHarris My bad. I meant snorkel down. Just thought that air from the ground may be clear enough.
-
Might some kind of snorkel be an idea / fix? Maybe it's best to consider where you glean intake air from for the mvhr at the design stage ? This could be super problematic for some ?
-
Beware having big spacings, you can start getting hot / cool feel to the tiles where the cable is / isn't.
-
You may want to go 100w per m2 as that 150w mat may be a bit untameable.

And then there was none.

Nick, I've posted that they stay seperate as there will no doubt be a lot of information sewn into each as time goes by. For future searches and readers it's imperative that they stay focussed on the title discipline so they must stay apart. Otherwise we will have one monster thread which requires an inordinate amount of sieving to get the required subject matter. As each subject is quite different in many ways, some small, others more significant, we shouldn't merge as it will likely cause confusion and may lead to disinterest in the subject. . -
Each of these threads are specific in title to a particular discipline. . The only rule here needs to be that each thread is kept from any non specific digression . We can compare the titled methods to others in each respective thread but members should know to toggle to the other threads to add any related information there, and there only. This kind of housekeeping is imperative so that each title, when searched in the future, isn't lacking any specific information which may been incorrectly inserted into a sister thread. These subjects have been made divisible as they each stand on their own merit, so the threads MUST remain segregated to keep subject matter and subsequent searches concise.

Great to hear the advice has had a practical and helpful outcome ? A Willis heater ( or a bank of them ) would also have provided at least some 'chill removal' so anyone who cannot convert a natural gas boiler to LPG could still link an all electric temporary heat source if so needed. Dont you you feel claustrophobic in that tiny house ? ?
-
Be careful not to gouge it . I think you'd be better off mechanically abrading the floor once dry as you'll have a laitance to remove before bondong anything to it, plus a good douse with a quality flexible primer. Id hire an upright machine and buff the floor once dry. The stuff your able to scrape is probably the problematic laitance layer . Needs to be completely removed before bonding.

Need a replacement to O2 s TU WiFi call app
Nickfromwales replied to ProDave's topic in Boffin's Corner
Have you rung your network provider for a repeater / booster ? I rang EE and told them I was leaving them as I couldn't get a signal in our stone house. The guy offered me a free box that plugs into the BB router and away to go. It should have been £100 but they "kindly" waived that ( which I told them was a good idea as I wasn't parting with any more cash, so if it wasn't free I wasn't staying ). Went from having to stand by the doors or windows to make / answer a call to 5 bars of 3G throughout the house, 4 in the attic. It drops out every now and then but generally works very well. -
Most towel rad heaters have an on board switch or heat control and UFH has a standby so both will still be able to be knocked on / off individually.
-
Sorry, I meant it ( the idea )originated there.

? 600w / 230 volt = 2.61 amps. A 5 amp fuse is plenty, but you could try a 3 amp first ?
-
Absolutely. I do things like that to reduce clutter as you say and as long as you accept the reduced redundancy then fill your boots cariad.
