  1. More info needed before honestly answering that
  2. First off, I don't think you can have a HP UVC in a horizontal due to the coil type / orientation. Next, why no pv ? You'll be paying for the hot water why not make it pay for itself ? Ground mounted array if you're not allowed 'on the roof' ? FYI the Sunamp units will fit in a kitchen base unit. Silent and virtually maintenance free. Now, bathing. Are these going to be swanky ensuite double bedders? If so then you need bags of DHW in the morning and again in the evenings. Remember that max DHW flow rate is dictated by the cold mains flow and pressure, so pointless designing the dream hot water system if no water will come out of the taps
  3. Will that be the longest or shortest ? .
  4. That's what's stopping me. Just a few quid short of living the dream.
  5. The knowledge you folk have 'had' to acquire is unique, as it's been hunted down in order to protect your interests, and to minimise costs ( aka maximise "profit" ) so ultimately, after completing a full build, you'd be formidable opponents of even the most seasoned of 'builders'. A builder friend of mine who's recently happened upon a 'few quid' has told me he'd rather now buy finished buy-to-lets and take the 7% or so return ( after unknowns ) than build houses to sell. Barking mad imo.
  6. Try RS or CPC. Needs a bit of digging.
  7. The most common cause of that over pressurisation is when the filling loop has not been 100% fully shut and the system pressure creeps up and starts letting water out of the PRV. The only reason water will continuously discharge is if it's continuously being fed into the heating loop, other than that the water will come out a bit, then the boiler will shut off. If the expansion vessel had lost its back pressure ( pre-charge ) it can be topped up with a common bike pump. The PRV is probably now knackered so I'd change that first and check the pre-charge at the same time.
  8. Very neat solution. I thought they'd be less inconspicuous TBH. I prefer that to terminals in a gable. I assume inline filters? Eg no need to get on the roof ever?
  9. One for @AndyT .
  10. Do you have a pic by any chance? Did you use vertical or horizontal terminals?
  11. Ardex is rapid cure, ceramic tiles in 4 hours from mixing and laying. Non porous coverings in around 2-4 days if your pushing your luck, but 7 days no probs. Expensive but crazy good. For you I'd say ordinary Portland and just wait it out. 2mm a day will be ample if you move the air about with a small desk fan.
  12. I agree. I think the ASHP manufacturers just specified them because it's a quick fix for hydraulically separating two pumped circuits, where each running at different potentials. None of the bypass adjustment / commissioning that you mention then so it's a 'guaranteed simple fix' from a manufacturers POV, regardless of its cost and inefficiency considerations.
  13. Why would you want mesh over the mesh?
  14. Last customer went for white and it looked better than chrome ever would. Different strokes for different folks.
  15. ✌️
  16. Each single phase in a 3 phase supply is typically described as L1 L2 and L3, and then you have your neutral and your earth, the earth howsoever obtained as dictated by the supply "type". Only one neutral is required to get 3 x single phase supplies. eg L1 ( red or brown ) 230v when connected between itself and neutral. Same for L2 and L3, so the neutral just gets split 3 ways with a Henley block ( big ass junction box ). 3 phase kicks in when you have a piece of 3 phase equipment, these are typically referred to as 415 volt appliances. Each phase is 230 volt independently, but if you put your load across two different phases you get 415 volt, whereas any phase to neutral would only give 230 volt. So a true 3 phase appliance will only take power from each of the phases, and not require the neutral, other than for the control electronics sometimes.
  17. I should ban you all. Sorry @BBCRenovationShow, you're not in on the gag. If you knew, you'd laugh.
  18. A thing I think I can see which adds the bling is mirror finish chromed tile trims. Chalk and cheese to the polished aluminium. Not cheap, but really look smart.
  19. Thats not a problem, this pipes will take a hammering before you damage them. Thats just a graze or two
  20. He always quotes me all inclusive. eg VAT and UK delivery included. Always ask though.
  21. Drain Off Cock....Me old Cocker.
  22. Any interested parties, please feel free to make contact with Callum via the Personal Message facility. Thanks, mods.
  23. Ah yes, forgot you can request a tapping for the DOC, as opposed to just soldering one into the tee where the feed goes in.
