I looked at one of these but they aren't ErP rated and getting a control box was a nightmare !

Did see this one though - Trianco are rebadged units so can probably be controlled pretty easily

If they're the same as the one I got a year or two ago, then yes nice little gennies. Look similar to the sub £100 ones you can get but proper inverter output and I think a wee bit quieter.

On an amateur radio forum that I frequent there is a lively thread going about how much electrical noise those Lidl Generators chuck out. Perhaps not an issue for most intended uses, but worth being aware of.

Halfords 3 for 2 on Ratchet Straps and Bungie Cords.

Here:

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/roof-bars-roof-boxes/roof-box-accessories?partnumber=103295,103360,103378,103386,103394,103402,103410,103428,103550,103568,103758,103766,121149

There are probably cheaper places, but I've stocked up because I have couple of gift cards that need using, and the 10% discount for British Cycling membership seems to apply to everything in the shop, not just bike stuff.

Halfords usually honour web offers in the shop. If they don't you just order click-and-collect to pay in the shop, and gift cards or discounts still work. You can usually even price match them in the shop against competitor websites (need a printout - read the terms). I'm going bacck for more today.

They review well, except the review by the poor bloke with the well-exercised thumbs who complained he couldn't make the 5m ratchet strap short enough for his load because the ratchet got jammed after he had ratcheted the first half meter from the end onto the buckle :-). Obviously a design flaw somewhere :P. We've all done it.

RTFM, old chap.

Any body who collects BA avios air miles, you can get a extra bonus in wickes, B&Q and a few other shops if you go through the BA avios shop link. At the moment its 3 avios for every pound in wickes above your credit card bonus. Not sure on how it works with trade accounts will investigate further.

Tesco have a 46% discount on an excellent Prosecco at present.

This one, which is a dry Prosecco. Reduced from £90 for a case to £48. It is delicious, and looks good so a good one to take when invited out or to give as a present. I have had about 3 cases of this over the last year or two, and I will be getting at least one more now.

Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg Extra Dry Ca'Val

Tesco Ergo Yum.

(Spend another £12+ on something else and it is free delivery - though since it is wine by the case you may need to spend more).

I bought a 3/8" drive GATORGrip years ago. Consigned to the bottom of the tool box tbh. Never use it.

Thought that might be the case. I'll resist the temptation to try one.

Why not, when in LIDL, try one out on some of their shelving and display units? ;)

Yep agreed. Utter crap.

Those generic wire strippers are as much use as a chocolate fire guard too. Teach yourself to nip and strip with side cutters.

In Costco earlier. Don't know if these are of any interest:

I was debating this just for an easy life (as opposed to something coming out of the ceiling and a riser):

Dunno if anyone local needs 'em, but I snagged a rather nice wallmount thermostatic bath/shower filler in Lidl Newtownards for a ten pound note and there's a few more left at that price. Score!

Lidl DIY time again from Thursday 31st Aug - Lots of interesting stuff this time out, include some LED spotlights.

https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/Non-Food-Offers.htm?id=321&utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NL2808&utm_content=DIYTools

Shame there isn't a bit more info- not even wattage, let alone lumens, for those spots. Shame, cos I need some!

I did buy some LED spots from LIDL in the past, 3 for a tenner, and they were pretty low wattage and dim. But that was over five years ago.

Cheap Wood burning stove. You have to be quick, not much time left on this offer price (will be interesting to see how much it goes up by when the offer ends) https://www.woodburnerworld.co.uk/kresnik-multifuel-woodburning-stove-45kw-13612-401468

I have ordered one and will be collecting it on a trip south in a few weeks.

I am not suggesting it for a passive house but the one I am buying is to go in our static caravan.

Sussex: Heavy Duty Ebac Dehumidifier on Ebay - £100

There is a low end industrial dehumidifier on auction at a price of £100 and no bids, which looks good.

This one:. New price is around £300+ I think, and it looks to be in good condition.

This is the link:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ebac-Heavy-Duty-Dehumidifier-25-litre-per-day-/152689593545?hash=item238d024cc9:g:XZ4AAOSwr6xZosFF

Possibly of interest to anyone in Sussex - the thing is Local Collect Only in the back of beyond (Steyning near Worthing).

Ends in 2 hours and no bids so far - so may be open to offers afterwards.
