I had exactly the same fault. I called the service line and they said the issue can be caused by a build up of scale. I pointed out that I lived in a very soft water area and she said well we can send an engineer but if it’s scale we will charge you (a fixed fee of £150 IIRC). At the time I was really busy and didn’t have time to get a service engineer visit into my diary and as the fault was intermittent left it. Fast forward a few weeks and the fault became permanent. I called them again and they sent an engineer next day. The control board had failed which was replaced under warranty. He also changed the filters at the same time which as I had suspected were perfectly clean. edit: I have exactly the same model.

I thought I’d update this thread: I finally received the missing unit. They managed to forget to order the drawer fronts for said missing unit which then took another 10 days. ? The damaged door and 3 wall units have still not been replaced. That’s a month now. Yes I accept that these are unprecedented times but they go to great lengths on their website to say they are open, have high levels of raw materials and are building and selling kitchens. On the plus side the solid worktop installer they use (natural stone surfaces) has shut down completely so there is bugger all chance of finishing the kitchen anytime soon ??

The Apollo GEM is a good bit of kit. Simple to install and set up. I had one working on my dual Sunamps and worked well until the problems with cold start on the controllers was revealed. Since then it’s been sat in a box

Good luck with that. I’ve got an entire feckin building dedicated to them. 3 years on and the only residents I’ve had is a wasps nest ?

that’s where the 55 cord is so much better, it’s a breeze to wrap a bit of cord around the thread and hey presto. I agree wit the liquid stuff. The loctite version has a bellows style bottle but it’s still genuinely annoying

hard to see properly butt the horizontal looks pretty good. Are you sure the reveals not just running out? Maybe take the wall down, remake the opening and then refit the door? ?

+1. Amazing on brass threads. Add a smear of Jet-Lube at the same time. https://www.diy.com/departments/jet-lube-jointing-compound-300-g/191085_BQ.prd Bullet proof, Tape just doesn’t do the job well enough.

My showers had the same 3/4” female. Its a lot simpler, cheaper (and tidier) just to make the direct connections in copper and then join to hep2o with a coupler. This: https://www.screwfix.com/p/compression-adapting-male-coupler-15mm-x/82086 and a length of 15mm copper pipe. Add a 90 to the copper run if it suits the install.

Now that is bloody cool. Nice work! -
Internal corners shouldn’t be mitred at all. Instead you should cut one piece flush to the corner and then the other is scribed to match the profile. This enables you to trap the two lengths against the wall.
-
This is absolutely the right way to do it. You can even fully glue the joint with a good quality wood glue. Just tape the mitres together with some masking tape and leave them for an hour. That way you have a perfect mitre and can offer it up to the wall. Even if your corner is a couple of degrees out you will have a small gap between the wall and the skirting which will be unnoticeable with a bit of calk.

Hi All Posting this in case it’s of interest. The NHBC have launched a number of free webinars. From what I can work out it’s open to all. http://www.nhbc.co.uk/Builders/Productsandservices/Training/Webinars/?utm_source=Shortlink&utm_medium=Shortlink&utm_campaign=Webinars_shortlink What better way to use up your period of self isolation by acquainting yourself with building knowledge and regs. Wow we’re a boring bunch ? No idea if they’ll be any good.

Getting trades on site responsibly

Don’t overlook the online builders merchants. I needed a load of Marley ridge tiles this week. Jewsons had them in the yard and wouldn’t deliver. Others had no stock. roofingsuperstore.com confirmed stock levels direct with Marley and they’re on a 3 day delivery. They also supplied all Klober dry ridge stuff I needed and that was next day. Again the normal merchants couldn’t help. No connection but a happy customer! -

Sometimes I think I'm just unlucky, sometimes I question whether we should ever trust things written on the Internet! So based on the rave reviews here (and elsewhere) I bought a kitchen from DIY Kitchens. Lead time was long which wasn't too much of a problem as the property was having major renovations and I wasn't in a hurry. It arrived just in time (well on the last day of the week window given). The delivery drivers were friendly enough (their own team as I had paid for Gold delivery in a small van) but gave away a couple of facts that should have heightened my senses (by the way chatting to the man in the van is a great way to find out the truth!). Low and behold there was an entire unit missing. So I phoned (as the driver advised me against raising an online ticket), was told I should raise an online ticket. I said "well do it for me then" which she did. Anyway long story short (broken promises a plenty) it took them 7 days to even acknowledge the shortage. Now two weeks have passed and all I know is that "we've raised a new order". So then I go back and say "Hey, I don't have all my order. Its all sat stored in boxes. Do I have to unpack everything and check for damages?". The answer was "yes". So despite not being able to fit the kitchen (No I wasn't going to leave a hole for the missing unit, that is just asking for trouble) I then had to unpack and repack everything. Oh the joy when I found 1 damaged door and 3 damaged carcasses. Again not even an acknowledgment of this latest ticket. Now for the other interesting bit. DIY-Kitchens are clearly quite masterful at deleting negative reviews on Trustpilot. Since this horror story began I've been checking it daily. Almost every day their is a negative review and every day one of the previous ones disappear. If you look today their are a few from the last few days. Perhaps DIY-Kitchens have succumbed to their own success? I'm certainly feeling grateful I paid by credit card!!

Its only the wrong solvent if you had a "gap". i.e. the pipe and connector were fairly loose which I would have thought was unlikely if its a standard 110mm pipe and connector. In which case you're all good assuming you cleaned and abraded both before applying liberal amounts of solvent weld.

Graf waste water treatment plant, any thoughts?

Yep it’s all good. Zero issues. It’s still happily blowing bubbles into my poo at it’s set intervals ?
