  1. Not the painters fault. the joiner who put the plasterboard up would be the better person to apportion fault.

I have at my furthest radiator a T into the flow and return under the floor at each of the pipes goes to a handle operated valve then they join together with another T and 1 pipe goes outside. it let’s me drain the system down without hoses etc in normal operation the valves are closed, on opened when I want to drain it down. This is next to the hatch so it’s easy for me. I copied it from a heating spec we were using at the time in 2004.

  5. The frame fixings with the plastic part are designed for solid walls, not timber. You need wood screw or coach bolts, or similar
  6. Most houses are single phase so ask for a single phase quote 18 kVA thats approx 80 amps single phase.

You need to decide if you want single or 3 phase supply and then work out from there. a 7kW charger can put a lot of juice into a car, again so can a 13 amp plug and socket arrangement depending on your travelling requirements, so only you know what’s good for you. Gas/oil heating or ASHP/GSHP. work on your m&e design

  12. Can you look online at your local authority online planning dept and download other extension plans, Fife council let’s you download plans, so if I saw an extension in the street I liked I could download their plan and get some ideas for layout etc.
  13. Get A2A run it off your night time tariff when it’s already cheap, and utilise the 400% efficient for of heating even more efficiently. keep a couple of storage heaters in the far flung corners of the house controlled via smart plugs to bring them up to speed and a great hybrid solution
