  1. Well when @scottishjohn opens up his estate for summer bbq (after he's had his govt approved dose) perhaps Mr Harris can be invited

    G3 trap

It's another point to fail I suppose
  3. Oz07

    G3 trap

For peace of mind could the overflow on these not be configured to trigger a cold outlet somewhere.

    G3 trap

Does the length of the run allow water to cool down sufficiently to run into normal black soil then @PeterW? Like a couple of m of 40mm then will it be cool enough not to melt the 110mm?
  5. @Russell griffiths its previously been discussed on here and you're better with 50mm acoustic slabs with 88mm cls. Filling the stud results in worse performance. I could hear the missus on her phone last night when I went to bed. Shut the bedroom door and it near enough completley blocked it out. I only mention because i have a gap at bottom of door for air flow but it was still effective
  6. Them beads go everywhere providing you you a decent width cavity and it's been kept clear I'd be more than confident that there would be no voids
  7. Well I've just looked thru that thread and at least I was helpful!
  8. What made you move in if a few bits still to do? Have you sold the other?
  9. I presume, useless as they are, you have contacted your MP
  10. Also what makes upping the density of existing housing favourable to reducing a green belt wedge and converting a nearby field or brownfield site to housing? Surely this should be a last resort
  11. What about the conflict of interest though @Gav_P
  12. Isn't textbook like within 15mm from plumb? I set my first by eye, temp brace off scaff, chuck all my others in at 600, nail longitudinal braces, go back to the first and set bang on for plumb, then 're nail temp brace and fit all diagonal bracing.
  13. I'm amazed that this is possible. As you've been advised you'd at least want the value based on uplift from development. I understand something like hs2 (not arguing for or against that) needing to run in a straight line from one point to another and could be argued is in the national interest. I can see why specific pieces of land would have to be compulsory purchased for that. I'm sure this tactic wouldn't be attempted on some gentry estate land.
  14. Local Bco let developer self certify but made out like this transferred the liability to them. Surely proper installation and certification doesn't break the bank. Aren't these things like a bomb if installed wrong?
  15. Wow that's crazy. Are we in communist country now? What area without being too specific if you don't mind me asking? How is real estate worth anything if at any time they can come along and pull this stunt.
  16. @Vijay brickies would prefer it as creamy as possible I reckon. Only problem is too much is not good for the compo. I've used foam for a tray before.
  17. Was a good resource. I wonder how someone who clearly had an interest and was passionate about the topic just disappears!
  18. @Russell griffiths What did you do for heating and water in the end can't remember seeing any topics

    Gate pillars

Mine is 4.5m and open with vertical bars, the wind still moves it!
  20. Have you looked on screwfix can't remember them being that much
  21. Poor pour preparation. Tongue twister!
  22. Was the place nice @PeterW Last place I had with it ripped it up, sold it and fitted engineered. Just wasn't worth the aggro of ripping up, cleaning and putting back down. Would have to have some serious historical property for me to be bothered doing that!
  23. @MortarThePoint the rafter roll maintains the 50mm vent. You fix it on a bit loose like your membrane and it follows the drape. Then you just make sure you don't ram your insulation in too tight
  24. Why wouldn't you put the eggbox crap in? It's literally cheap as chips. Also the over fascia vents I think finish a roof off nicely. I always have over fascia vents roll out rafter tray Breathable membrane vented dry ridge. I was always to understand more ventilation is better than none in a roof space. Last place I put bedded ridge on with fascia vents years ago got condensation in winter in roof space. We went back and put 3 vent tiles on the cold side of the roof 2/3 up and it fixed it
